Is it OK for a nursing mama to take a cortisone shot for bursitis?
Thanks.

I don't see any specific reference to local shots in Hale. However, shots are
like are minimally absorbed systemically (which is why they are given locally
in the first place), so, given that low-moderate dose systemic steroids are
fine, and things like inhaled steroids are fine, I'd think that these would be
ok too.

I had a steroid shot for "nursing shoulder," aka rotator cuff bursitis,
during the early postpartum phase after my first kid was born :). I
actually nursed the baby during the appointment (so the orthopod could see
the position my shoulder was in) so it's not like he didn't know about the
nursing :)

Good. Now the only other issue (for me) is cortisone versus
blood glucose. If it's not one thing, it's another. :-)
