Woman Charged with Giving Away Son
, , ,

By DON THOMPSON, Associated Press Writer

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A woman was charged with giving her
10-year-old son to someone she met on the Internet because she could
no longer cope with his misbehavior.

The woman arranged to give the boy away nearly three months ago to a
Florida man she knew only as Gus, then moved to another town,
Vacaville Police Detective Patrick Cowan said.

want to be with a parent.''

Pair indicted in death of 3-year-old

Woman, boyfriend face prison

By Janice Morse
The Cincinnati Enquirer
HAMILTON — A 27-year-old Woodlawn man won't face a possible
death sentence, but could get life in prison if convicted of killing a
3-year-old Middletown girl. But the charge against the girl's mother
has been increased.

Miles

Kevin Charles Miles appeared Wednesday in Butler County Common
Pleas Court on charges of murder and child-endangering; his
girlfriend, Tiana Centers, 20, faces a charge of permitting child
abuse. The charges, in an indictment issued Tuesday, stem from the New
Year's Day death of Ms. Centers' daughter, Courtney.

She died of internal bleeding after Mr. Miles punched her
while her mother went to a convenience store, authorities said.

Family members who attended Wednesday's court appearance
declined to comment, but have previously said they were troubled to
learn that Ms. Centers is pregnant with her third child.

Her surviving child, Emily, 18 months, has been placed with a
great-grandmother.

Grandmother charged after authorities find 2-year-old wrapped in

ALLIANCE, Neb. (AP) -- A 49-year-old woman has been charged in the
beating death of her 2-year-old granddaughter after the toddler's body
was found wrapped inside plastic garbage bags, secured with duct tape
and a shoe lace.
Authorities found Annette Hirsch's body Saturday.

An autopsy showed the toddler died of blows to the head late Friday or
early Saturday,

Notice I've not made a practice of posting the particulars of parents
brutality to their children, while you have made a practice of posting

The point is, all kinds of caregivers do harm to children in their

Have you ever seen me defend a foster parent or not bio parent who did

Desperately Seeking Susan Smith

Thursday, July 10, 2003
By Amy C. Sims

NEW YORK — Posting an online personal has become a popular way to meet
a date, and now one notorious lady is looking for a pen pal who shares
her interests: rainbows, waterfalls, Mickey Mouse.

Susan Smith, serving a life sentence for the murder of her two sons,
has joined the lovelorn masses seeking a soul mate in cyberspace.
Those interested in a "sensitive, caring, and kind-hearted"
incarcerated Christian can e-mail or write Smith at the listed
address.

There's a lovely pic of her too, off to the right, all decked out in
her perky best in prison garb. Looks like the girl next door, or
possibly like a relative of The Plant.

No I notice you have a habit of bad spelling, slandering Doan's name and
posting many articles that prove there is no way CP$ could have ever
prevented these tragidies from happening in the first place. Most of the
time the articles concern live in boyfriends and grandmothers. And the
article doesn't state wheter they were maternal or paternal and what went
on in the first place for that grandparent to get custody in first place.
Was it a disgruntled Grandparent that made false allegatation against the
custodial parent from other side of the family? We don't know, do we? What
is it they say about: "The whole truth and nothing but the truth."

Who are you calling "Fig"? You some kind of clown? Funny man? Regardless,
I don't think it's funny that children can get removed from a family on
false allegations and then hurt or killed by those that are charged to
protect them and there-by held to a higher standard and should be
mentioned to all ends of the Earth. That is the "point" and the truth, but
you know so little about the truth.

Yes, your terminology is flawed and your logic is toxic. What more proof
does one need? Your obnoxious obscenities? Etc.

Oh really? Those that have been tried and convicted by a court of law? Name
them. Or are they those that you have tried and convicted in your own
court?

"Profiling" of 'parents' is a very serious issue, and those that work to
expose that "profiling" are taking issue and fighting child abuse. The
Media can only report what they can discover and what they are told. If
someone decides to defend what they read from the Media, then the Media
has delivered the message and it's your problem if you don't agree with
any readers opinion. Not the Media's or even mine.

Hi, Kane!

As is common across the nation, LAPD has a special detail of detectives who
investigate child abuse and neglect. Fortunately, in this case, the
horrible abuse of this child was treated as a crime and the perp arrested.

Increasingly, this is the response to child abuse and neglect.

As it should be.

Child abuse is not an illness. Child abuse is not a social problem. Child
abuse is a crime. In this case, it was treated as such.

Thanks for posting the information, Kane.

Hi, Kane!

While it is a little dated (a year and a half ago), the story points out
that police were called by relatives and, it appears the grandmother was
arrested and charged.

An appropriate response.

Child abuse is not an illness. It is a crime. In this case, it was treated
as a crime.

Well, in the selection that you did post, it seems the cases were
investigated and disposed of properly. Do you agree?

Hi, Kane!

This case of fatal child abuse was investigated in April, 2002.

While the incident happened more than a year ago, it does represent a
horrific case of abuse. Thankfully, the perp was prosecuted and found
guilty. It appears that, again, police were the investigative agency. She
goes to prison for 40 years.

Child abuse is not an illness. It is a crime.

Hi, Kane!

This newsstory was published January 10, 2002 -- a year and a half ago.

I hope you agree that it was appropriate for this case to be investigated by
police and criminal charges brought against the parents.

Using that logic YOU shouldn't post a news story unless it contained THE

When and where did Kane claim it was "funny" that children get hurt or
killed?

And you don't think the stories about children who get harmed in FC should
be mentioned "to all ends of the Earth???"

Then why do you consistantly post them on this NG?
