New Guidelines Established For Child-Abuse Cases Leaders Establish
Centers For Abused Children

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Community leaders in Osceola County are joining
forces to get help for abused children as quickly and humanely as
possible.

The leaders came together Thursday to sign the Osceola Children's
Advocacy Center guidelines, which are designed to create a more
efficient, and child-friendly way of investigating and prosecuting
child-abuse cases.

"We will come together to make sure that the trauma that these kids
experience will be as limited as possible," said Karen Butler Miller
of the Osceola County Children's Home.

As part of the agreement, abused children will be taken to one
location, a children's advocacy center, where they can be seen by
doctors, counselors and police investigators.
