Hello, my name is John Dunn. I am a former Crown Ward of the Catholic
Children's Aid Society of Toronto, and the webmaster of the Canadian
Foster Care Council web site. I'd like to ask you to get a pen and
paper, because I am going to give you some important foster care
related information at the end of this message.

Anyone who is interested in the safety and well-being of children
under Government care and their families across Canada is invited to
join us in planning Canada's First ANNUAL VICTIMS OF CHILD WELFARE
MEMORIAL DAY
This day will honour all children who have been killed, or who have
committed suicide while under Government care.

On this day we will also remember the family members who have
themselves committed suicide as a result of the severe trauma of
having their children apprehended into Government care.

And finally, we will honour all of the "graduates" of the child
welfare system who have since committed suicide, ended up living on
the streets, or in prisons today as a result of their lives in
Government care.

If you are interested in, and / or experienced in planning events, and
have some ideas you would like to contribute to this day of planning,
please email your ideas to

Attend In Person:

Or, if you can make it, meet in person at the Gloucester Shopping
Centre Food Court on Saturday September 20th at 2:00 in the afternoon
so we can brainstorm together on what to do for the ANNUAL VICTIMS OF
CHILD WELFARE MEMORIAL DAY on October 03 each year. We can not let the
deaths our societies most vulnerable go un-noticed.

The Gloucester Shopping Center is located in the east end of Ottawa
near Blair bus station at Oglvie and Blair.
