Keith,

I'm beggin you. My eyes can't read what you've written above very well.
Mainly because it looks like one big run on sentence. I have double vision
and the way you've chosen to write just messes with my eyes.

If I read it correctly you are asking should your ex and her family be able
to see your kids. The answer to this is yes. In some way or fashion you
should let your children see their mother and her family.

I know I'm sounding bitchy about the way you've written, but to be honest,
I'm seriously going to have to ignore your posts if it doesn't change.

thanks,

I didn't say anything about your grammar. I simply asked if you could not
write everything as one long run on sentence. It wasn't an insult....it was
a request. Big difference.

If I can't read a post, I can't respond to it. Sorry.

I still think you need to try to use capitalization and punctuation a bit
better. There are folks here who have vision problems. If you choose not
to utilize capital letters, be aware that some people will not take the time
to read your posts. That decision also makes you appear uneducated, when
actually you may just be lazy...

Just my opinion

Nice to see someone has something to say on the subject. Having to
decide what is best for your child can be nerve racking. No one is
perfect and all decisions can have situations that come up later to
haunt you. My son's father left and hasn't seen him in over a year and
now my son doesn't even mention him much and when he does it's just in a
passing thought. Like "my dad got me this" and then it's off to the next
thought in his active little life. They know who has been there and who
hasn't. They may be little but they do know. Hang in the Keith, you will
make the right decision and thank you Tony for letting someone know how
you handled it.

Sounds interesting. I have read numerous posts offering advice. But then,
maybe you don't read them thoroughly; or choose to focus on the ones that
promote conflict. Whichever the case, one can always hope people will stick
around, and find the 'good stuff.' Sometimes you just have to ignore what
doesn't work, or what seems to be a stab at you personally. When I first
posted here, I felt some of the people here were overly critical. I
responded with clear clarification, not spiteful jibes, and they faded away;
until they had something to say. If it doesn't apply to you or the
situation, leave it alone. Not everyone has been through EXACTLY the same
thing. Sometimes we (adults, parents, single parents, pick your choice)
need to let off steam. Sometimes, things get out of hand. Just because you
were involved in a situation like that, doesn't mean the entire group is
unsupportive. I have found lots of support here. Some advice as well.
This isn't alt.support.single-parents.find-the-best-way-to-live-your-life.
Sometimes support is just listening (or in this case, reading) and
commiserating. Saying something like, "yes, I know what you mean. I have
been there, it gets better (or worse)" It doesn't mean that every time
someone posts, there is going to be advice; because sometimes there just
isn't any. Sometimes we just have to muddle through no matter what. You
may be financially secure, and self-secure. I don't know, simply because I
haven't yet seen it in your posts. I have not ruled you out, I wish you
wouldn't do that to others here. Some people have a pretty rough way of
stating things. Unfortunately, the truth is painful sometimes. No matter
how you coat it, it can be tough to swallow. The sooner we all learn that
the better. I am STILL learning that lesson. LOL

My hope is you will read with more open-mindedness, and realize we are not
all where you are in life. Some are further ahead, some further behind.
That's what makes this group work. Some people have information on one
aspect, others on another. Draw what you need, don't bother with what, for
you, might be drivel. Simple. When I first posted, people said some pretty
rough things, that could have hurt my feelings. I had not explained my
situation entirely, and it caused confusion. It could have been a 'flame'
war, if I had responded with anger. I simply stated more detail, sometimes
it's information that can fix the problem. I sincerely hope you hang
around. It sounds like you might have some advice to give, if you would be
willing to share. So far, I haven't seen any, but if you have been here
awhile, I might have missed some. If you just ignore those who are 'out to
get you,' and post pertinent information, I could make a better judgment
call about some of what I have written. Of course, this probably makes no
sense to you, as most of my replies to you have been stabs, jibes, needles,
whatever you want to call them. They seemed appropriate at the time; but it
was not a mature response. You have to admit, however, neither were yours.
Please give the group a chance, I did. You might be pleasantly surprised.
Just my thoughts. Incoherent as they may be.

How about a truce? I have actually been reading most of the posts. There are
some interesting people here with interesting (sorry, can't think of another
word) comments and advice. I have been afraid to respond at all for fear of
upsetting the people who already don't want me here.
My first post here was written after lurking for quite some time. I had
read a lot of stabs at people and just had to respond---I should not have done
so, I guess, especially when no one knew who I was. It just sky-rocketed from
there. I never mentioned any one person, but then it got out of control as
people singled me out.
Don't mean to ramble....sorry.

I agree to a truce...let's hope others do as well. Rambling...no apology
needed, we all do it from time to time...well most of us...well...SOME of
us. Anyway, see what I mean? Maybe it was poor timing, or poor wording, I
don't know. Hope you stick around, just to see if you can find something
useful here.

I'm seriously starting to get confused as to what you're replying to. I
don't believe it has anything to do with education, be it yours or mine, or
anyone else for that matter. It is confusing, though, to read something and
have no idea what you are responding to, only to try and go back and figure
out what it is, exactly that you are commenting on.
I don't care so much about the capitals, or lack of capitals, or even the
punctuation, (again lacking) but trying to follow what you are talking about
is really starting to get confusing and more frustrating.

Yeah, but Dolores used to be a regular...and not a troll, that is why it got
under my skin so much. And to be honest, still is under my skin. I'm sick
to death of quite a bit right now. I'm beginning to think it's time to give
the FAQ to someone else.

Huh? I'm a tad lost here Brianne. I'm may be a lot of things, but I've never
ever been nasty in the way you imply....And no, I dont get any pleasure from
knowing that you have a handicapp, I get no pleasure at all.

And the reason I found it so funny, was cos I experienced double vision once
myself.....self inflicted mind you (which probably goes without
saying)......and it goes down in the history books of my friends as one of
the funniest nights we ever had out. I wont bore ye with the details.

Just read your post above, where you asked if I was getting pleasure from
your handicapp, now I;m wondering which you posted first...this one or the
other one. cos yes I was being silly, that's all. Totally innocuous.

but you've hit a touchy spot with me.

Sorry, didnt know, and didnt mean any harm.

Apology accepted. I'm a bit touchy about things related to my accident
that's all hon. Some days I find it funny, some days I get overly touchy
about things.

Lurk Mode <off>

Its a bloody shame when what could be a usefull NG turns into a place
for trolls and backbiting. I have started and given up on quitre a few
groups. I think the main problem is the lack of control and moderation
in a group.

However, dont give up so easily Turtledove, killfile the troll, see if
that makes it more bearable. This group could be a valuable resource.

Alternatively, do what I did, start a forum somewhere

perhaps you should read what I said before trying a flame? Lets look at it shall we?

In support of TD, and mentioning that it happens in may groups, and my
personal belief as to why it happens.

Moral support to someone obviously at the end of their tether

> > Alternatively, do what I did, start a forum somewhere

Another suggestion.

Now, where in that do you see 'net copping' Demanding that people act in
a certain way or have a certain viewpoint?

All I see is as I have said, sympathy for someone at the end of their
tether and thinking of giving up the FAQ. There is no need to know who,
what, why or when to do that. Likewise, there is absolutely no need for
your aggressive and confrontational response. Or is that the only way
that you can get people to talk to you?

I said when I first reviewed this ng with the intention of contributing
that it seemed to be full of backbiting etc. You have just proved my
point, and confirmed my decision to hit unsubscribe.

Should anyone actually want whatever help/support ofr just friendship
that I can offer, I can be found in the forums in my last link as Rev
Dave B.

Enjoy

Reading comprehension is not your forte obviously. My post was not a flame,
simply an observation........but as typical with most new posters as I
described above, you have taken offense and now jumo to the defensive.

Maybe you should look up the meaning of the word 'OR'

There is unless you want to do a lot of ASSuming

LMAO..........it didn't take you long to get to the point s I made after the
'OR'

> Or is that the only way

A personal attack.............how quaint.

Still moving. Right now we hope to be in Vegas by the end of August. So
extreme packing has begun. My emotions are just raw. Thankgoodness my son
is fine with the move (so far, I really don't think he understands teh
concept about moving...which is surprising being that he has already moved
five times in his 9 years...yikes! In two weeks he WILL be 9....sigh...)

The thing is/was about D's post was simply that it surprised me. I know I
don't spout all the time about my health situation, but it's really touchy.
Yes, I'm healing. Yes, I'm a zillion times better than I was last year at
this time. But....I still miss the old me a bunch. Especially with this
move..I would like ALL my mental faculties working correctly..especially my
vision.

Oh well....back to packing boxes!!!

hugs,

I sometimes suffer from the cross eyed thing as well when tired, so I know
how you feel WRT to that.(though it sounds like you are gradually getting
better)......along with a loss of depth perception at night, vitrous (sp?)
retnal separation and a host of other eye problems as well.

Usually very short term.

What for? You take a snapshot look in here for the equivelant of five
seconds in a year and come to a conclusion like that?

Dolores is not a troll but is a valued poster here.
So very occasionally someone makes an oversight about another posters
personal situation. So what? Happens all the time in real life.

>This group could be a valuable resource.

It is for those who give it a little time.

Good idea, **** off and talk to yourself.

*bri (who now feels horrible that I took Dolores so much to heart. I really

Is this about the "double vision" post........cos if it is, then yeah you're
right Dennis, it *was* an unintended oversight, I'd no idea, and how could I
have!!

I find this to be a useful NG.

Oh no. I participate in some moderated groups. BOOORING. As soon as anything
gets the least bit controversial (and you would be surprised how easily things
get that way) - BONG, end of thread. No thank you. I prefer self-moderation,
and enjoy a few flamewars. No body is making you read them.

>Alternatively, do what I did, start a forum somewhere

I suggest anyone that is unhappy with this group will be much better off
starting their own than trying to change us.

That's what I think too. And how arrogant - I came here to help YOU, he
doesn't need us, he just wants to *help* us. Never trust anyone who claims not
to need anything from you - they jest wanna hep.

Wether or not Buzz is here for the right reasons I don't know and won't
comment. This ng is a clique far worse then any of the cliques in the
average high school. Any outsider with anything that may considered an
oposing opinion to the ones inside the clique of this ng is immediately
tagged and bagged. Not too mention that most here fail to realize the power
of the emotionless written word. The written word is left up to the reader
to guess how the statement(s) are intended. And then you wonder why people
take it as an offense.

Well after lurking here for a couple months I too am going to hit the
unsubscribe button. The never ending flame wars just drag me down. And I'm
already in far too low of a place in life to waiste my time reading that
garbage. If I wasnt I probably would be posting this, but I don't need you
people to make me feel worse.

Thanks and good bye.
Tony

Now is the point you choose to flame me, accuse me of being a troll, lieing,
exagerating, and whatever pointless garbage you think up. Won't matter, I
won't be here to see it.

That's pretty funny because if you paid as much attention as you claim, you'd
know that every so-called "insider" (an insider is just someone who posts
frequently) disagrees with just about every other "insider" on at least one
thing if not more.

>The written word is left up to the reader

Well then, perhaps the person choosing to take offense ought to take that in
account when they make a decision as to wether or not they will be offended.
It is a free choice after all.

>Well after lurking here for a couple months I too am going to hit the

So you've lurked for months and never chosen to contribute and now you blame us
because we were of no help to you.

>And I'm
>already in far too low of a place in life to waiste my time reading that
>garbage

I suggest that the above has something to do with your being in a low place.
This is NOT a flame or a put down - this is support, believe or not. When you
look for other people to lift you up and don't do anything to help yourself,
you will always be disappointed and let down. Maybe if you had contributed you
would have had a more positive experience. And I suggest you look at the rest
of your life. Being a victim is depressing and powerless. The reason I always
insist people are not victims is that when you recognize your responsiblity in
a problem, you gain the power to change it. Victims have no power. I choose
to believe you and I have the power to make our lives better

> but I don't need you
>people to make me feel worse.
>

You don't need anybody to "make" you feel anything. You choose unless you have
a chemical imbalance and even then you have the choice to do something about
that as well.

>Thanks and good bye.

You are quite welcome and I know you are reading this because everyone who
writes a ng suicide note comes back to see what people will say.

And you thought we didn't care ....
