I've been offline a whole week and I actually survived - did things like clean
house and carve pumpkins. Took my computer in to be fixed and was going to
have it upraded until I discovered how much computers have come down in price
so bought a new one but of course, had to wait for it to come - still don't
have it but I did have the old one fixed and so I'm back on that....

Anyhoo...We had Halloween, small town, kids still go trick or treating, Old
ladies invite the kids in the house to sign their guest book, give out homemade
treats, nobody gets stabbed or poisened. My daughter was the Statue of Liberty
- I drew spiders all over my face when I answered the door. My son and I
fought over who got to hand out candy to the trick or treaters "MY TURN MY
TURN" we would bicker!

Not too much else, doesn't look like interview in Madison is going to
materialize so we are still here for a while.

Of course! I always do!

Halloween is a very special day for us. Yesterday I had my girlfriends
family over for the evening. There isn't a lot of trick or treating in
their neighborhood, so I told them to come on over so the 9 year olds could
have some fun. They did, so I had my friend and her husband, their 20 year
old daughter and her boyfriend, her 19 year old son, and her 9 year old son
(who is a good friend of my son). The youngest went off and about for their
very first halloween without parents following them (I live in a very small
gated community). They had a blast and kept saying it was the best
Halloween EVER!

I cooked Gumbo, they brought dessert and snacks, and we all giggled for
hours and hours attempting to get my friend interested in South Park. Then
went to laughing about various topics and really having fun. I think the
young adults enjoyed being with the 'big' adults as well as we enjoyed being
with them.

For those that know what religion I follow it is basically the equivalent of
New Years this weekend. So, today we're having a Fall Festival event at one
of the local parks. I made Chili (fits right along with the weather) and
bought some cupcakes for the kids.

All in all this has been a great weekend!

Everyone send some positive energy and blessings towards all the families
and firefighters that have had to deal with teh fires in California. We
smell the smoke here in Vegas and many of our local firefighters are there
helping out (it's only 3 to 4 hours away from us).

my love to all,

Been weighing up new ones myself this weekend too. This old 133 speed chip
is now a dinosaur.

No visitors here, I'm isolated in rural Ireland! Not only that Freddie was
away for the week (half term break) at his mothers.

There must be a better job waiting for you down the line.

We did something a little different for Halloween this year and went to a
concert designed for children. It was very informal, we all sat around
tables and there were pumpkins everywhere. Ours was huge and needed four
tea lights.

Most folks, adults included, had dressed up and the menu was suitably
gruesome. Things like vampire's fingers in blood. (Hot dogs in barbeque
sauce)

Pete went as a skeleton and I went as the grim reaper. Sort of suited my
mood at the time. :-)

The concert was a new idea but I think we'll be going again next year.
