View Full Version : Anyone else waiting for GM Bonus Check?

Hi,

I spoke with my ex husband and he says that GM has taken half of his bonus check to pay for some of his arrearages. This was over a month ago, and I haven't received any of that money. When I call Freind of the Court they just say that they don't know. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem.

I won't ever buy GM again.

Does he truly HAVE arrearages? Not trying to pick a fight here, but
this subject was brought to our attention when those bonuses were first
...... re-directed. Seems that some of the bonuses were taken from
people who didn't really owe anything...

Yes he truly has arrearages, he was the one that told me
to be expecting it. I didn't write this to cause a conflict, I was just wondering if this happened to anyone else. To my understanding all of the employees that didn't have arrearages have been given their bonus back. I am not saying whether it was right or wrong for them to take the money. Obviously that depends on which side of the fence your on. My concern is that over a month ago $900.00 was taken from my ex husbands check to pay towards his balance and now The Friend of the Court is saying that they don't know anything about it and GM is saying the money was sent two weeks ago. I don't really know who to ask to find out any information.

I don't think that I am the only one and I was just looking for some info. I found this article yesterday on the web:

Sorry to hear that, I think they sell a lot of nice cars. It is the State of Michigan that made them take half of the bonus, GM was just following the law. And if you were a person that had arrearages owed to you, you might be thankful for what they did.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

The theory being, of course, to err on the side of caution......... as
long as the money is someone else's. Since the timeline was short, why
couldn't GM, or even the government, front the money to those who were
owed the arrearages and work out the details later?

Rhetorical question, obviously.

Paragraph form? Your reply to me today has three "paragraphs", two of
which are one-liners, so it looks like you ARE able to seperate
paragraphs. If you're referring to the on-screen length of the lines
when you read them, try using a hard return ( <ENTER> ) at the point
where you want your lines to end. My reader shows the line below that
starts with "Ok, I have a ..." as being one long line all the way to
"... Do I use html?". When you compose your posts, you're seeing a line
length which is determined by a combination of the on/off status of
"wordwrap" or "linewrap" in your editor and the width in characters of
the window you're typing in. There may or may not be a setting in your
reader to "send as formatted" which may or may not insert the hard
returns as they show up in your editing window, but the sure way to get
a line to end where you want it to is to just hit <ENTER>.

PLEASE do not use html - it embeds a LOT of extra characters in the text
and makes it difficult to read for most of us because our readers are
just plain text.

eljsmom ...

I can't understand how or why GM thought they must get involved with the
FOTC. I'd heard it had something to do with the union contract. Nobody
knows which end is up now at either end. The 'witholding' affects not
only the CPs, but the NCPs as well. They (GM) has made a bad situation
much worse. They should have known better than to get involved with such
a disorganized bunch of idiots as the FOTC.
