This group seems to be more about the positive things and being a good parent.
And that means more than just financial needs.

Please, mind the crap, ie, fancy pictures, attachments, background colors,
music, fonts, etc. Not to be rude or anything, but it really does make
things hard to read, ESPECIALLY on a binary newsgroup. I'm glad I had the
option to get rid of all the HTML and junk, or I would never have had the
opportunity to warp my brain reading the above.

Just the same as basically everyone around here, I, too, am a single parent.
That's no secret. When I meet someone new and they find out I'm a single
parent of a preschooler, they look at me and ask how old I really am, what I
enjoy and how I manage. I won't claim to read the minds of others, since I
can barely manage to read my own, but I have yet to get the feeling that
this said new person assumes I'm looking for a husband, dad for my kids or
someone to support me and/or my offspring. Perhaps the message you send to
others, maybe not even knowing it, is "Please pity me!"

Worthless as the father of your children may be, YOU picked him. YOU made
the choice to reproduce with him, and to this day, I wonder why people tend
to bash their exes when THEY are the ones who hopped into bed with them. If
he's such a big loser, where does that leave you? You aren't going to find
much compassion when moaning and bitching about your ex. Actually, that's
one thing that the majority doesn't care much to hear about. Boo hoo.
Daddy doesn't help out with changing diapers because he's a deadbeat!
Waaah! Mommy's useless because she left me for the milkman, and she doesn't
even pay!! Blame is a neat little device that you can use whenever you
don't want to take responsibility for something in your life. (I believe
that was Wayne Dyer who said that? Correct me if I'm wrong...) Please,
spare us all.

I don't think it's a Michigan thing. I think it's a thing all over the
world when faced with people with crappy attitudes.

He is something to them. Remember that. I can not stand my ex... but they love
him, so out with the bitter attitude. Feel free to vent, but please do it
theraputically and not just to do it.
