View Full Version : the honeymoon's over

Paul & Cele
April 8th 05, 08:04 AM
Well, we did it. We got married. To each other. With witnesses.

And we have the paperwork to prove it.

So it must be true.

And it's great. It really is. So now we're going to our corners for
four months or so.

[sob]

But eventually we'll be on the same tectonic plates. Same continents,
even. Maybe even in the same country.

Hell! We could go wild! We could even live in the same CITY!!!!

That'll be such a treat......

Oh, BTW, there'll be a big, big party and church wedding in December.
More to follow.

Thanks to all of you for your congratulations.

We had a week of post-marriage togetherness, and Paul is now back in
Wales until his school year ends at the end of July. Mine ends in late
June, but I have to contract for July in order to pay the rent, 'cause
otherwise there's nothing coming in for the summer months. It's a
little known fact that most teachers aren't paid for the summer
holidays.

Being apart is harder than ever, now that we're married. We want to
get on with our lives together. But it's only time, it will pass, and
soon our family will be able to settle in. Everyone is so positive and
upbeat about everyone else, we can be grateful for that, too. Paul was
barely off the plane before my girls and their guys were over for a
family games night.....

Meanwhile, T has moved out into a basement suite with a girlfriend.
She presented her father and me with a budget, and has been working
since October so has credibility on that front. She's been absolutely
relentless about completing her online studies and is on track for
June graduation. She'll get the same financial assistance her sister
had while she goes to college, which means a bit of help with rent &
me paying for meds & occasionally contributing a care package of food.
She's ready, and she's learned all she can from living at home, we
think. It's hard to believe how far she's come.

So for the next couple of months, I've got an empty nest. Then it's
back to the pre-teen era, as Pete's still only 11. A boy will be a
whole new experience! He's a great kid. I must be nuts; I'm actually
looking forward to it. That empty nest thing messes with your
head....;-)

So in a week's time, I've got married, got an empty nest, and seen my
new husband off for four months. Other than that, not much is
happening here.....

Be well, everyone.

Yes indeed, it was lovely to read all the good wishes. Okay, who's turn is
it next? ;-)

Pete's too, of course. If it weren't for that I'd have been even more
tempted not to rush back.

Depends where you live 'cos I get paid up until the end of August. :-Þ

Luckily (?) we both have more than plenty to keep us busy so boredom won't
be too much of an issue.

> Everyone is so positive and

It was very encouraging to find out that everyone, even total strangers,
seemed to think we'd done the right thing. Family and friends on both sides
have also been extremely helpful and supportive too.

Yeah but I think that's 'cos they wanted to be in with a chance of winning
because I'd still be jet-lagged. ;-)

Seeing the differences in just the last nine months is frankly amazing. Her
attitude is incredibly positive and her work-ethic impossible to fault. She
deserves lots of good things and I very much hope she gets them. You did
good, Cele.

Not getting broody are you? We agreed grandchildren are next on the list,
didn't we?

Back to the daily grind eh? Ah well. Such is life.

I notice you felt the need to be the first one to use one of "those" words
in print. :-Þ

> Be well, everyone.

And try to be happy too. It comes recommended.

Yeah pretty decent :)

i hadn't been on usenet in ages but i got an email from a friend in the
"alt.recovery.na" group saying that Lorian had posted asking if I was still
alive. Not if I was doing ok, but if I was alive :)

OH I have long hair now, like really long. I'd ask for a date again but I'm
not single anymore heh.

We also added two pugs to the family, Wooky and Roxie, they're brother and
sister, very cute, but they spend most of their time dooling and sleeping,
when they are awake, they like alot of attention... just like me :)

hope all is well with you guys

Me either,,,,I got married last September, and we have a black lab in out
