Oh dearie me, do I have 'em. I'm using a 1% cortisone foam they gave me
when I was in the hospital, plus Gold Bond cream or powder, depending, and
things seem to be getting worse, not better. I've resorted to witch hazel
pads, but I don't think they're helping either.

Suggestions, anyone? The last thing I need is for the worse of the two to
get thrombosed, and I'm not sure it isn't already. Very painful. I'm also
worried what will happen to them when I deliver.

I don't have any help for you, I'm afraid, but just wanted to say--wow, 38
weeks! This is one tenacious baby, that's for sure.

I am crossing my fingers that you go into labor soon and have an easy,
wonderful VBAC.

I had a horrible hemorrhoid over 4th of July. It was worse than any I've had
postpartum-it was extremely painful,
large and bleeding 24/7.
I was liberal with Preparation H Cooling Gel (witch hazel plus anesthetic I
think), drank lots of water,
patted clean instead of wiping etc...... I was about to try the "potato
remedy" when it started to shrink and eventually
went away completely. I've heard it recommended many times and touted as a
very effective remedy a small slice (julienne shape)
of potato in the rectum can really help reduce the swelling of a bad
hemorrhoid.
Feel better soon!

Try Prep H suppositories (or a store brand equivilent. They worked excellent
for me.

Preparation H ointment. NB the different Prep H things (ointment, gel,
suppositories etc.) have different active ingredients - the ointment is
what my local pharmacist recommended as being most effective, but I don't
know about the others.

This may be unusual, but I was SUFFERING with them at 35 weeks. I
delivered at 38 weeks exactly and had an uneventful delivery, and they
were so much better the next day. I was expecting the worst, but was
pleasantly surprised. They haven't bothered me since.
