Dunno, I just hang mine on a hook when I'm done playing with her...

Probably a bad place, the toddler would fly off and hit the wall.
Sorry, couldn't help it. Wishful thinking :*)

To the original poster: We have a plastic toy chest/book
shelf unit that we got at Toys R Us. Its held up well, she
can reach her stuff (DD is two). I think it was made
by First Step, or Step one or something like that.
Toys R Us had several different options, I'd check there.
We also have some baskets and rubbermaid storage
bins with tops for storing smaller toys/ little people.
My SIL has those shelves with the multi colored
plastic buckets, I think Target carries them. They've
worked well for them.
If you want to spend $$, pottery barn kids has some
really cute wood shelves with wicker baskets.

One of my friends has said that if she'd been in charge of designing
babies they'd have a loop on the back of their necks so you can hang
them out of the way when you need to - especially at the swimming pool
so you can get dressed in peace...

While you might find storage bin conventent, we just kept our toddler in
a laundry basket.

Actually, Target and Long's both have the kind of bins that can be put on
a wooden frame (which they also sell) like a low bookshelf. This provides
about a dozen bins in a 3 ft wide 3 foot high shelf. Works great for us.
: What about ceiling fans?
We could never stack enough toys on the blades to make a ceiling fan
worthwhile for storing toys. Besides, when we turned on the fan, they
were all over the room again.
: Either a store or online shop.
: Thanks in advance

I will second the idea to check out Ikea. While I was over there looking
for a dresser for the baby I saw some really neat storage ideas for toys and
other kid stuff. It's worth a look.

I got the Target "buckets and shelves" type organizer. Then I took it home and
decided it was too small and inflexible. For less than what that unit costs,
hereis what I did:
I went to a home store (Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.) and got the adjustable
shelving track, brackets, and shelves. I installed them in a closet (DS has
two in his room) but could've put them on the wall instead. Then I went to a
Dollar General (you can go to The Dollar Tree, Dollar Store, KMart, WalMart,
etc) and got 3 plastic laundry tubs, several other plastic bins, and a couple
of plastic shoe boxes.
Everything is totally customizable. I can add a shelf if I need to later on.
I can move the boxes around, get bigger or smaller boxes as needed, and it all
looks orderly and neat. I can keep Legos in one laundry basket, balls in
another, and books on a shelf.
Took me about 2 hours to shop for AND install the thing in the closet.
