There have been two incidents involving my grand daughter and her
other grand mother. I let the first one go without stating my opinion
to her , which was on a pick up day , the baby was playing with a toy
just before her grand mother came to pick her up, the baby did not want
to leave she was having fun with her toy, so I said do you want to
bring it with you and you can play with "Pop" with it and that was
great she said yes and was ready to go, hugging her toy. Mari took her
down to the door, and upon passing baby to other grandma , the woman
grabbed the toy from the baby which set the baby off into a scream and
cry fit, actually grabbing tighter to the toy.
Her comment was "you have one of these "at home" and handed it to Mari
who was just shocked. Walked away with baby crying.
Today, The baby had fallen asleep about a half hour before the doorbell
rang, my daughter scooped her up and she woke up, I said give huggies
and a kisses nanny bebe wont see you for a while. Off down the steps
they go. This time when my daughter passes the baby the woman takes the
pacifier out of her mouth and hands it to my daughter, again making the
baby cry, and off she goes. fortunately my daughter comes in and tells
me what happened, and I was out the door to confront her. I spoke in
normal tone, and said " why did you take the pacifier from the baby and
hand it to her mother?" she says "we dont use it at our house, she
doesn't use it at our house" I say " She is young enough to have it if
she wants it"(she is 20 months) she says "well she doesn't get one at
our house" I say "well that is not your decision to make" 'It is her
mothers" I said "I don't think it was necessary for you to take it
away like that, and upset her like that, you could of waited until she
lost interest and put it away" she says "well we don't use one" and got
in her car and left. What is this womans problem ? sheesh! Bev
