View Full Version : My 7 week ultrasound

Henrietta Louise
August 8th 03, 03:40 PM
I went ahead and had my 7 week ultrasound. The doctor had scared me by
saying he didn't see a fetal pole in the gestational sack at the 6 week
transvaginal ultrasound.

I went into the radiology department where the staff was friendly,
courteous, and very upbeat. They saw the embryo, with his/her little
heart going at 160 bpm. He/She was measuring a day behind, but nothing
to be concerned about. I got two nice pictures.

I am very excited and happy. I did end up feeling a lot more at peace
with the whole situation after reading all the responses to my post. I
almost didn't go, but my husband wanted to know what we could be facing.
So, now we are both pretty happy. I am not gonna do any amnio or cvs or
anything else that. Thanks for all the replies in regards to my vent
about the doctor.

Regards,
Henrietta

Henrietta,

I am so pleased to hear about your good news!!!

I called my doctor's office and learned that I will NOT have an US on my
first OB visit (as she does not do them in office) but will be given a
"prescription" to get it done at the hospital where I choose to deliver.

I hope that I will also have good news!

Carol Ann

Glad to hear that everything went well and I wish you a happy and healthy
pregnancy.

That scare you had is exactly the reason why I'm not a fan of early u/s.
I've seen more poor women come to this ng scared after a negative experience
with an u/s at six weeks or so. I'm just glad everything is ok.

Congratulations on the wonderful news! I remember what a relief it was
to see my baby's heartbeat at 7 weeks (I can't believe that was 28 weeks
ago). Enjoy this happy time with your husband!

Take care,
