Hi all!
Yesterday was my ob appt. Had a ultrasound and both babies look
wonderful! They are estimating each to be 4 1/2 lbs. growing atthe same
rate. My results of Saturdays 3 hour blood sugar were normal, my blood
pressure100/50. I stopped gaining weight the last 3 visits as I just
can't eat much (no room!) My uterus measured 41 cm. (that always makes
my ob laugh) Right baby is head down already engaged in the pelvis, left
baby is head down right above my lefthip bone and body is slightly
transverse. The theory is right baby will deliver andleft baby will then
come down head first. guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Tomorrow will be my 12 week anniversary on bedrest. I can't believe I've
made it this far! I'm so grateful that I've been able to do this at home
instead of the hospital. I can't believe that they are trying to
eliminate home monitoring with the use of a terb pump. While itmay not
work for everyone, it has surely done the job for me! Bedrest can make
you crazy if you let it, but I choose to not allow myself to think about
all the things I'm not able to do. It has really helped alot!
Now we're in the homestretch.....but this seems to be the hardest part
yet. I'm pretty uncomfortable, lots of pelvic pressure, ribs hurt, hands
keep falling asleep, achey all over....but this too shall pass. At least
the girls have a fighting chance now, something theydidn't have 12 weeks
ago, and I'm so grateful.

Such excellent news!!! WTG Kim & the twins!

When will they lighten the restrictions for bedrest? Will you
be allowed up a little more once you reach 36-37 weeks?

I had the same question in mind...do you have names picked out yet?

I was hoping for twins when I first found out that I was pregnant...so
my husband and I had names picked out before we found out what we were
having. NO twins, but we're having a girl...name to be Akira Violet.
If there would have been a twin, the 2nd born was to be Anika Joy.
Boys names we had chose were Adam Benjamin and Alexander Franklin.

All middle names are after a deceased relative in either mine or my
DH's family.

Good luck with the twins!!!!

Names:
Madison Grace and Margaret Ann.
(Maddie and Maggie) Yes, I know they are simiar "short" I always like to
wait and see how their personalities match. My oldest, now almost 15 is
Elizabeth Michelle, never called her Liz or Beth as it didn't suit her.
My middle now 13 is Kristina Lee, we call her Kris, Krissy, and Kristina
depending on "mood" (ie. is she in trouble again?) My youngest, almost 9
is Michael Robert, mostly Mikey. So I guess we'll jst have to see what
they wil be called once they are home for awhile.
Bedrest: I've already been less restrictive with my ob's blessing, as
long as it doesn't cause contractions. In oher words, I do occasionally
move around the house a bit. Not much though. Contractions don't seem to
be much of a problem with the meds, but pelvic pressure is, so as soon
as I feel too much I get horizontal to keep cervical pressure to a
minimum. My Drs. are very comfortable with where I'm at, of course
keeping the babies put is optimal however we are over the major hump
with problems/complications. (especially with my history, all 3 children
born early with no complications) Right now I'm hoping for 2 more
weeks...my son was bron at 35 w and weighed 7lbs, 8 ozs. Would like the
twins to get a little meat on their bones and of course have mature
lungs. (this was never a issue, even with my 34W preemie at 4 lbs.) Plus
hey did get steroids at 24W gestation.

Sounds like things are going great, Kim! Keep up the good work. I'm sorry
that you're feeling so uncomfortable, but I guess it is to be expected since
you are not able to do much and are carrying twins. Sounds like the babies
are in great, birth-facilitating positions too :-)

Best wishes for the next few weeks!
