it was Monday when she posted "should I call the midwife?"

what do you reckon, has she had the baby, what are your bets on when, weight
and head circ?

I'll go for Wednesday, not comitting to time of day!, 7lb straight and head
circumference 35.2cm.

Hope everything is well with you Lucy...

I'll go in on that, Anne -- cute idea! I am going to guess 8 pounds,
13 oz and head circumference of 34.5. I guess I'll go with Tuesday
night for baby's arrival.

I'll have fun with this as well ;)
I say early afternoon on Wednesday, and baby is 7lbs 15oz, head is... Um...
I really don't know! I can't remember what any of my kids' heads were to
base a guess on for what a baby's head could be, but I'll guess baby is
20.5" long!

Hi Anne and all

Thanks for the post :) I am home again, but no baby yet tho! Sorry to
disappoint, but I did enjoy reading your birth weight/date guesses :)

I went to the hospital Monday night. They were unable to confirm that
night if m waters had broken, as they said there was a lot of fluid, but
weren't sure what, so I was asked to come back on the Tuesday morning.
Tuesday, they said it wasn't my waters, and guessed at an infection. I
kinda felt less silly about it not being my waters when they weren't
sure at first either. Anyway, whatever it was seems to have stopped now
anyway, and the baby is still mega active, so that all seems ok.

I saw my community midwife on Tuesday afternoon, who thinks now that I
will go overdue, and has booked a membrane sweep for the 20th, and they
will book an induction then too (not to be done that day, just to make
the booking.

I've not been about since as I have been poorly. I got very dehydrated,
I guess because of the heat and keep passing out/being sick. DH has been
a star, and is trying to keep me cool and topped up with water. He was
also a star at the hospital when they were trying to open my legs to far
and hurt my hips - he soon stopped that :) It's good when you feel your
man is of use at the hospital :)

I am very glad the membrane sweep has been booked tbh, I can't take the
heat and being heavily pg. One of my poor SIL's is due in August, and I
have no idea how she's going to deal with such hot weather. I also feel
with that date in my head, I am nearing the end of the pregnancy, which,
I have to say is a massive relief.

THanks again for the post :) You're welcome to carry on taking birth
weight guesses! Nothing too big tho please!!!!

awwwwwwwww Lucy, (((((hugs))))), I hope they didn't make you wait too long
at the hospital and do awkward things to you, but at least they didn't
decide there was doubt and induce you, that was what was really worrying me,
that they would induce you and it wouldn't work and you'd end with a
c-section.

Hang in there

Aw thanks Anne. Not long to go now :) I didn't have to wait too long on
the Monday night - had to wait slightly longer on the Tuesday morning
- but that was partly our fault for having a flat tyre and getting there
late ;)

As for awkward things, well, I think that's part of the indignity of
pregnancy ;)

Take care

but at least they didn't make you stay in, which has been known.

oh well, I'm glad you see it that way, but there is finding a balance
between finding information and avoiding infection.

I hope the sweep works, to watch yourself whilst it is being done, make sure
you get into position carefully and use pillows or whatever to support your
legs as you could be in that position for 15 or so minutes. who will do the
sweep, and where will it be done? according to my community midwife, doctors
are not good at sweeps and it needs to be done slowly any carefully, hence
the 15 minutes. Also, you have SPD as well as the hip trouble? Don't let
anyone make your put your legs further apart than you are comfortable with,
if it means they can't do the sweep properly then so be it, it's not worth
damaging your pelvis over.

Cheers

Anne
