Baby sucks and stops

Hello,
My baby boy used to drink normally up until recently. He used to
drink, I'd burp him, he'd drink some more, and he'd sleep. But now, he
cries when he's hungry, yet when I breast feed him, he sucks, then
stops for a while and just lays there. Then, sometimes later, he'll
begin sucking again. I don't know why he does this. I give him his
pacifier, and it works sometimes, but I want to know why he isn't
drinking like he used to. Normally.

OK. Can we have a little more information. How old is he?
Is he breastfed or formula fed? How long has this been going
on?

I'm guessing that he is formula fed, he is between 6 and 8 weeks
old, and this is colic, but this is a total swag, and I have
NOTHING to go on. Give us some data, and we will say something
maybe more intelligent and helpful. :-)
