One in every 677 live births in the United States has a treatable eye
disease that will blind the child if not detected and treated properly.
These diseases include cataracts and a childhood cancer called
retinoblastoma. If left untreated, retinoblastoma can kill your child. And
yet, it is a treatable disease if caught early. The Rare Cancer Alliance
is supporting the efforts of the "Love Joey" campaign to make parents aware
of how easily these diseases can be detected and treated, if proper
diagnostics are used.

There is important legislation being condsidered in the state of Florida
that may put an end to the threat of these diseases in that state. If you
know of a parent, expectant parent, grandparent, or caregiver in the state
of Florida, we ask that you pass this information on to them. And PLEASE,
pass this along to others.

YOU MAY SAVE THE VISION OR THE LIFE OF A CHILD!!

Please visit this page to view infomration on retinoblastoma detection and
particulars about the "Love Joey' campaign and information on detecting
these diseases in your infant.
