"Tracy Sherwood, the driving force and innovator of the New Phonics
rage is now here and serving Santa Clarita. Sherwood changed the
complicated traditional phonics in many ways, one of which turns the
focus to speech sounds separating it as a helpful prerequisite to
alphabet awareness. Sherwood led the way toward emphasis on techniques
to make the concept more simple for children, adults and individuals
who speak English as a second language.
Read how Sherwood's unprecedented innovations and contributions to
literacy has changed the face of teaching phonics forever. But first
read the 1996 CyberTown News article that sparked the popularity off
these new techniques and philosophy, with the simple focus on Baby &
Toddler phonics preparation, Phonics the Right Way and the Wrong Way
just one sub-field of Sherwood's works sweeping the Worldwide web and
leading the way since 1996."

And more importantly - who is giving what medication for "LD's"? I haven't
heard of this.

However, for special education purposes, it can be classified as "Other
health Impaired" (from the Bush I administration memo) and special services
provided. My son has no specific LD, but his ADHD was making nornal
schooling impossible for him. Under OHI, he recevied some services which
allowed him to suceed.
