Well, DD and I have hit the 6 month target, after a very rocky start. I
would just like to say thank you to everyone who posts here, as I have read
so much wonderful information that seems unavailable in the books in our
library. I feel quite proud that my little heffalump has gone from 7 lb 1
oz to about 17 lbs (hasn't been weighed recently) on my milk only. Not even
a bottle of expressed stuff has passed her lips, although I wish it had!
Due to poor latch (and continuing issues with it), I didn't want to risk
nipple confusion. I will try and get her Dad to give her a bottle soon -
and just see if she will take it.

And just to give you a wee laugh, a friend of mine started giving her son a
'top-up' bottle of formula at about 3 months - in her words 'because I don't
know if he is getting all the vitamins he needs from me'. I tried to tell
her he would be just fine, but she persisted, and he weaned himself at 5
months.

So a huge thank you to everyone here, with all the collected wisdom. I am
now looking forward to baby no. 2 (just thinking at this stage, no action),
and I would like to see if I can shock family and friends by tandem nursing!

Cathy, and the mobile 6 month old with 2 teeth!
