Healthy children's development... start with the mind. by
www.aacp.netfirms.com
I always pay particular attention to parents when they start talking
about proper nutrition and its affects childhood development. It seems
like a natural thing to beleive in: healthy foods mean healthier minds
and bodies. I fully agree, but am dismayed that most parents do not
know "what" foods...

Can you reccomend healthy recipes kids will love? by
writer-by-day
Hi all! I have three kids, all with different likes/dislikes when it
comes to food. I have found a few meals that everyone seems to like
that contain a lot of fruit and/or veggies: chinese chicken salad,
taco salad made with veggie crumbles (soy textured and flavored like
beef), chicken...

Are private schools more responsive to parents? by
writer-by-day
I have three kids in public school in Massachusetts. For the most
part, I've been pretty happy with the quality of their education.
However, I find that the principals and superintendents seem to resist
change and find requests to change very threatening. For example, our
school community would...

Is this book appropriate for 4th graders? by
writer-by-day
My 9 year old son was recently assigned the book "Among the Hidden" by
Margaret Peterson Haddix. It is set in the future when population
control is a big enough problem that families are only allowed to have
2 children. Third children (like the main character) must be hidden
away to protect them....

Am I crazy to think this is wrong? by
writer-by-day
Would you give a 9 year old a laptop computer? Well, I wouldn't, but
my son's school thinks it's perfectly sane to hand out Apple ibooks to
fourth graders and expect them not to ever make a mistake.
My son has been known to trip over his own feet, as many growing kids
do. He accidently dropped...

Christmas Jars by
[email protected]
Has anyone read the book Christmas Jars by Jason Wright? I saw an
interview with the author last night and it sounds pretty good. I am
having a hard time finding it locally. Amazon still has them but they
are afraid they are going to run out before Christmas.

junior high athletics by

I am a college coach. I have coached athletes at
all levels - elementary, junior high, high school, and college. One
of the main problems with our society is the fact we are too scared
to
hurt people's feelings. Everyone gets a trophy in little league.
That is not right. Why should anyone play...
