At 80 some pages that would be quite an accomplishment. Can Doan provide us with even ONE page number correctly related to a question from it? Not so far. I can provide a copy of the Embry Study to anyone who wanted it. I have made this offer before and I am still offering it. So far, Gerald and Aline have asked you for it, why can't you provide it? Alina,
Welcome to the ng. I'm also a "vehement non-spanker." Not only have I read the research involving short and long term outcomes associated with spanking, but also I have never understood the mentality that justifies raising one's hand, with or without an implement, and hitting the body of a little child in the name of discipline. When adults hit other adults, the behavior is illegal. The behavior is defined as assault. Yet the US denies children protection from assault. Children are assaulted every minute in the name of discipline. How disgusting. LaVonne Alina wrote: (Kane) wrote in message . com... By the way, I've already provided the study to two different people in these ngs. Who they are is their business. Kane Kane: Hi, I'm a vehement non-spanker. My child is 4m and me and dad have a long way to go and a lot to discuss about her raising. If possible, can you provide ME with that Embry study? email it or whatever. If not, thanks anyway. Alina, Welcome to the ng. Thanks I'm also a "vehement non-spanker." Congrats! (...), but also I have never understood the mentality that justifies raising one's hand, with or without an implement, and hitting the body of a little child in the name of discipline. I think in most cases they don't even stop to think about it, it's just the way it is. It's the way they were raised and the way they've seen other parents raise their children. A possibility of NOT spanking has not even occured to them. Just a thought: maybe that inability to see other options or to realise that a child is vulnerable and being hurt, is the result of being spanked in their own childhood. When adults hit other adults, the behavior is illegal. The behavior is defined as assault. Yet the US denies children protection from assault. Here in Mexico there has recently been some few actions towards preventing and fighting domestic violence. Mostly I think they want to protect women and children, but it won't work. First, no goverment can just pop it's head into every single home just to see that nobody is being abused, and most abuse victims fail to seek help. Also, it would take a long time for all to agree on what is and what is not abuse. But most of all, they are fighting fire with fire. Don't punish or else you will be punished. Laws make no sense if you can't get people educated about what lies beneath them (just the same thing as when educating a child: if you spank him it makes no sense, you have to get him to understand things and what lies beneath the rules). Children are assaulted every minute in the name of discipline. How disgusting. Indeed. LaVonne Pleased to meet you, then :-) Alina. |

How disgusting. How illogical! :-) Doan |

I can't be sure if I spelled sphincter
wrong, but I'm not claiming to be an proctologist. Kane made professional claims, I did not. I can spell whoopee cushion right I think, but I claim no expertise at that either. Are you sure that perjorative doesn't fit? |
