conquered and ruled Egypt for a millennium or so.

The pharaohs were Copts. By the way, we have a Coptic church called
SAINT MARY COPTIC ORTHODOX CHURCH in Roswell, GA, a suburb of Atlanta.
It may be the only one in the Southeast.
