Camp
My girls want to go to a 6 night/seven day camp this summer (August). I am
very hesitant to let them. They went to the camp last summer for one night/two days and complained that it wasn't long enough. They had a GREAT time! I have been trying to convince them to no avail to go to another camp here that is only three nights/four days. The camp they want to go to doesn't offer a middle stay. I am thinking of just letting them go and preparing myself for maybe having to pick them up early due to homesickness. The great thing about twins though is that they will have each other and they are familiar with the camp since they went last year. I am also worried that even if they are ready I am not. : ) Also other 7 year olds may not be ready and there won't be very many people their age at camp. Any advice or stories to share? -- Erin Morgan and Megan 2/15/97 Evan 5/14/00 |

Camp
Wow -- Hanna's best friend's parents (only child, btw) want to take Hanna
away on camping trips this summer for just 1-2 nights and I am having a hard time with that. No way I could do 6 nights of camp in a big group. Not that YMMV doesn't apply of course -- but I just signed EHC up for a *day* camp in Seattle (theater and science) and I rejected the ones with an overnight option and even ended up choosing one of the shorter 4-day weeks cos 8:30 - 4:00 for 5 days in a row so far away in the "big city" seemed too much at their age! Anyway, does the GREAT camp run for more than one week of sessions and if so could you sign them up for a single night during two or even three different sessions? OR if you go for the 6 nights in a row, can you visit a couple of times during the day to check up on them? Unless you are sure the other alternate camp is really great, I don't think I'd want to switch when they enjoyed this one so much last year. Eek. I just dunno. As you say, you could always pull them out after 2 or 3 or 4 days if they wanted to come home (I'd hate the $$ waste myself and would prefer to pay more for multiple sessions than put all the eggs in one basket). In any case, you have my empathy as ever. --Janet Elliot, Hanna, Connor (10/21/96) and Holly (4/4/01) "Kender" wrote in message news:Pzm8c.187$JO3.440@attbi_s04...
