"Child support stuck in system"

Child support stuck in system Special Report: In the often-contentious world of child support, it's not uncommon for one parent to tell the other that the child-support check is "in the mail." If the CS was so critical to raising children, one would think the CP would go out of their way to keep the state informed about where to send the money. I can't help but think OCSE is covering up a bigger problem of employee incompetence and computer problems that are the root cause, rather than UDC's. As usual what is not talked about is just as important as what is talked about. There was zero mention from OCSE officials that some of the money was over-collected and/or no longer owed and they would take legal steps to stop the UDC in those circumstances. The obligee could be dead, incarcerated, institutionalized, or have abandoned the children leaving them with a relative or family friend. Of course, to mention those types of circumstances would require portraying women in a poor light. Pointing out those types of situations would run counter to the mommies good, daddies bad bias in the CS system. |

If you are going to be required to pay it should be direct without state involvment. Here's another example: http://www.tucsonweekly.com/gbase/cu...?oid=oid:51142 PUBLISHED ON NOVEMBER 13, 2003: Deadbeat State Linda Hoffman thought her ex-husband wasn't paying child support. He was--but the state was keeping it for no reason. By CHRIS LIMBERIS Linda Hoffman and Charles Kausler had been divorced for nearly 24 years and rarely spoke when they both attended their daughter's 30th birthday on March 10, 1997. The venue, Crossroads Restaurant, was neutral, yet familiar enough for Hoffman and Kausler to advance domestic détente. There was plenty of cause for confrontation during the dinner, but Hoffman bit her lip. But when they moved into the parking lot after dinner, Hoffman took her chance. "I looked at him and said, 'Why didn't you ever pay child support?'" Hoffman recalled. "And he kind of scratched his head and asked, 'What do you mean? I did. They took $10,000 out of the bank in downtown Tucson in 1981, and I had only put it in days before.'" (snip) |

Some important things to consider...
1-You don't need a college degree, or even a high school diploma to work
for CSE. A GED will suffice. (incompetency) 2-The unmanageable number of cases each office has seems to be growing exponentially. C$ is indeed a vicious cycle and a learned behavior. (unmanagability) 3-Most of the CSE representatives, male or female, have their own case to worry about. (indifference or bias) 4-Have you seen the insultingly low pay the CSE employees receive? Not to mention the crumby benefits package. The deck is stacked. |
