Yes, but that's what poison control is for. Next time go to them first to
ask if it's an emergency. Don't ask us if you need to ask them if it's an
emergency, okay?

It's never out of line to call poison control -- they'd rather be called
dozens of times for things that turn out to NOT be emergencies than have
you delay even once.

I only called once in my kids' childhood -- but I their number was
always taped by the phone, along with the local emergency numbers. (I
know, I date myself here -- 911 is a relatively new thing, and was not
in place where I lived when my kids were small.)

I feel like terribly ignorant for not knowing about this poison control
hot line. I already wrote the number on the wall at home for visiting
grand parents - who originally caused the panic - my father thought
vitamins are good and gave my 3 year-old son 3-4 of those! (He thought
they were like candies and did not even think it was a medicine.)
Thank you.

4 tablets of children's mulitvitamins probably do your child
more good than harm! I wouldn't worry! those tablets are
generally designed to have a very conservative dose. Most
people can benefit from increased amounts of vitamins, more
than in the typical multivitamin. If someone has several
pills per day for many days, there is a concern about too much
accumulation of vitamins A and D; you'd have to think about
the amounts. A lot of vitamin C at once can cause diarrhea-like
symptoms but that isn't really harmful: it can be a good, healthy
cure for constipation, and anyway I doubt 4 children's multivitamins
would have enough to cause that symptom.

I already read the post that you'd called poison control, but
decided to type the above comments anyway. Vitamins are much
less scary than drugs; people should use them more IMO.
