does anyone know what replacement bulb to get for a 2000 V-Star Custom front
turn signal? The manual says 12 volt, 27/8 watts, which seems to be useless
as far as i can tell.

everyone else uses the standardized numbers, like 1157, 2057, etc., with no
mention of wattage. The thing was sufficiently rusted that the only way to
remove the bulb was to tear it out. Advance Auto & places like that have
half-a-dozen bulbs which appear to be identical but clearly aren't. I've
tried the 1157 size, & i still get the fast blinking you get when one's out.

it seems yamaha has made finding replacements incredibly difficult... i've
spent hours on the web, etc. I never imagined replacing a bulb could be so
frustrating. Extracting the thing took enough time.

No, i cannot take out the other one, as it's sufficiently 'welded' in there
by rust that to pull it out enough to see will break it & probably get it
stuck to the point that pliers are the only option.

thanks
