Is it implantation bleeding?
DH and I are TTC. I miscarried back in December and am on my third
cycle of clomid since then. The last two cycles have failed and I am waiting to see about this cycle. My cycles are very irregular and clomid also makes my cycles longer...about 34-36 days. On Friday (Day 36), I wore a tampon when I went to run an errand, in case my period came. When I came home and took it out, there was mucous (sorry) and a little red blood on it...but nothing ever came out the rest of the day on my underwear. Later that day, I put another tampon in and went to the store. When I came home, I took it out and there was mucous and a small amount of brownish blood on it. But, again, no blood was in my discharge that night. Today, Saturday, I went to the bathroom and when I wiped there was some mucous along with some pinkish discharge. Could this be implantation bleeding? I took a HPT yesterday and it was neg...I guess it is too early. However, I don't seem to have any other signs of being pregnant. No sore breasts or cramping. Any insight would be appreciated! JC |

I had implantation bleeding on the 23rd day of my cycle, also while on
clomid. To keep my cycles regular, I took provera to start my period to maintain a 28 day cycle. My bleeding was very light, brown in color, and mucousy. I also had bloating and cramps. It only lasted for less than 24 hours. 3 days after the spotting, before my period was due, I took a First Response hpt and it came back faintly positive... "JC" wrote in message oups.com... It being day 36 (normally the end of your cycle) with a neg HPT may not bode well, unless you didn't ovulate until day 24-26. What I mean is that if you are more than 14 days post-ovulation and have a negative pregnancy test with a fairly sensitive test, you are probably not pregnant. If you are 10-14 days past-ovulation you *could* get a positive result with a sensitive test, but a negative test really can't tell you anything. Different brands have different sensitivities. Here's a chart of various brands of HPTs and their sensitivity level. http://www.craigmedical.com/pregnancy_chart.htm Here's a chart of HCG levels in early pregnancy. If you didn't do an HCG trigger shot, you can count number of days past-ovulation plus one. http://www.ivfer.com/hcg.htm#HCG%20L...ly%20Pregnancy As far as symptoms, I had plenty of symptoms for unsuccessful cycles but didn't actually have any when we finally succeeded! In fact, I had hardly any symptoms period. If it hadn't been for the blood HCG tests and then an u/s, I would not have believed I was pregnant during the first trimester. If you haven't had more of a period by Monday, I'd ask your Dr. for a blood HCG test. If you have a pos HPT, you don't need a blood test to confirm pregnancy, but might want to do the two HCG blood tests a few days apart to assess if the pregnancy is progressing. Depends on if you are a "want to know every detail" person or "enjoy the moment" person. Good luck! Amy FWIW, you shouldn't use tampons when you aren't actually having your period, or use too high of an absorbency for light bleeding. This can cause toxic shock syndrome. |

I was thinking the same thing in regards to using a tampon preemptively. I think it's safer and smarter to carry tampons and use a panty liner until you actually begin to spot or flow, rather than shove a tampon up there "just in case." I was thinking, "Am I the only one who read the box?" This is why God invented pantyliners and purses. I can't help but wonder if a lifetime of using tampons "just in case" could cause fertility problems... It probably hasn't been studied, but you never know. Amy |

This was first time I have done this and it was only for 30 minutes at
most. This was not the purpose of my post. Please focus on the main point. I NEED information on others who have had implantation bleeding. Thank you for your help! JC |

There are a bunch of reasons I much prefer my Keeper [http://www.thekeeper.com] to tampons, and now I can add the health risk to the list. :-) -- Jacqueline #1 Due late Jul/early Aug |

Better luck next month... Amy (who did not experience any implantation bleeding, and who thinks that a pregnancy would be ENTIRELY too long if you found out that you were pregnant at 2, 3, or 4 weeks - as I found out at 7 weeks and it still seems like for-freakin'-ever) |
