| Can Kane provide Jerry with the Embry study?
Alina,
Welcome to the ng. I'm also a "vehement non-spanker." Not only have I read the research involving short and long term outcomes associated with spanking, but also I have never understood the mentality that justifies raising one's hand, with or without an implement, and hitting the body of a little child in the name of discipline. When adults hit other adults, the behavior is illegal. The behavior is defined as assault. Yet the US denies children protection from assault. Children are assaulted every minute in the name of discipline. How disgusting. LaVonne Alina wrote: (Kane) wrote in message . com... By the way, I've already provided the study to two different people in these ngs. Who they are is their business. Kane Kane: Hi, I'm a vehement non-spanker. My child is 4m and me and dad have a long way to go and a lot to discuss about her raising. If possible, can you provide ME with that Embry study? email it or whatever. If not, thanks anyway. Alina. |

Alina, Welcome to the ng. Thanks I'm also a "vehement non-spanker." Congrats! (...), but also I have never understood the mentality that justifies raising one's hand, with or without an implement, and hitting the body of a little child in the name of discipline. I think in most cases they don't even stop to think about it, it's just the way it is. It's the way they were raised and the way they've seen other parents raise their children. A possibility of NOT spanking has not even occured to them. Just a thought: maybe that inability to see other options or to realise that a child is vulnerable and being hurt, is the result of being spanked in their own childhood. When adults hit other adults, the behavior is illegal. The behavior is defined as assault. Yet the US denies children protection from assault. Here in Mexico there has recently been some few actions towards preventing and fighting domestic violence. Mostly I think they want to protect women and children, but it won't work. First, no goverment can just pop it's head into every single home just to see that nobody is being abused, and most abuse victims fail to seek help. Also, it would take a long time for all to agree on what is and what is not abuse. But most of all, they are fighting fire with fire. Don't punish or else you will be punished. Laws make no sense if you can't get people educated about what lies beneath them (just the same thing as when educating a child: if you spank him it makes no sense, you have to get him to understand things and what lies beneath the rules). Children are assaulted every minute in the name of discipline. How disgusting. Indeed. LaVonne Pleased to meet you, then :-) Alina. |

Alina:
But if you go in a back room with a bunch of social worker types, is it intellectually healthy? Is it really vigorous debate if you seek out a mutual admiration society? This thread is an example of what I refer to as intellectually inbred. "It just doesn't occur to them to not spank" sheesh! "It just doesn't occur to amateur pretend Social Worker types (without ethical code) that constantly second guessing parents has a disempowering effect on parents, and creates runamok kids!" "It just doesn't occur to them that we are NOT a Socialist Country." Seriously, I have watched a gaggle of ultralefty people sit around talking matter of factly as if they had won an election and how they were going to divide the "spoils" after the election. "It just doesn't occur to them that there are people with other political views." |

LOL! Kane trying hard to distract from his lies! Just another weasel dodge eh? I didn't lie and you haven't shown I did. Why don't you just email Alina the study? ;-) Because she could be you socking up or a friend of yours angling for the study for you because you don't have it. You've never proven you do have it. Why is it you demand that "Aline" R R R R, provide you with a self addressed envelope? Why is it neither "Aline" or you seem able to carry off this transmission of material? Nice try, Droany but it's becoming patently obvious you are running a giant bluff...scam really, and you have nothing as regards the report. You desperately want a report though, don't you little boy? R R R R R Doan Show us the lie, by the way. And Answer The Question....for THAT is the sole reason The Embry report was brought up by you, to avoid admitting you don't have the answer to the question I asked. Just another childish and transparent dodge, little weasel. Admit it coward. You don't have the answer to the question and no spanking parent has the answer, though they all claim, as you have, that they and you do. You choked, then gagged, now you are retching, and that is ALL you are doing with your challenges and bull****, instead of simply answering or admitting you cannot answer The Question. Have a wonderful life. Kane On 14 Apr 2004, Kane wrote: Hi Alina, Have you the study that Doan promised to send you yet? If so what do you think of the data? Kane |

You seem to claim you can though...so if it's "Not true" you are obligated, or noted to be a blabblering fool unless YOU can come up with a rate of child assault in the name of discipline. The police can hit you and it is illegal only if the force is excessive. Not true and illogical, and the difference between us is that I challenge you to prove that police cannot use "excessive force." They can kill you and it still be legal depending on what was happening between you and them at the moment. YOu confuse legal terms. You need to look things up before you blabber. Or at least afterward instead of running like the coward you are. The correct statement would be "The police MAY hit you if it legal for them to do so, up to and including serious injury and death based on the circumstances." That they CAN hit you is completely irrelevant. They, like anyone CAN hit. But they MAY not unless it is legal to do so given the circumstances. Even I can hit you under certain circumstances. And it would be moral, ethical, and legal. I might also NOT be so. In fact, they carry BATONS! Which has zero to do with anything but an appeal to emotion, thus avoiding giving serious thought to such issues. This is the problem with your lies about wanting parent's to make up their own mind. You are defending the assault of children. I have no problem with a person holding their own bias, HONESTLY, but you lie, claiming not only that you don't want to influence them to make up their mind toward YOUR bias of it being okay to hit a child. Your responses to LaVonne in the post (and your entire posting history to this ng) is replete with just such an expressed bias. How disgusting. How illogical! :-) On the contrary. You can't even use "may" when it is appropriate. You do not know what the legal constraints on police are...or you aren't being truthful about them, and you want people to spank their children, because you were spanked and need to justify it or admit your parents were wrong and didn't love you, "often-spanked-boy!" What Doan said is true and Kane is trying to dance his way out of it using semantics and sophistry. Ironically, Kanes own argument to prove Doan wrong doesn't really HELP the anti-spanking cause either! (Did Kane get lost?) |
