I must be the worst mother on MKP

I have wood floors in my living room and bedrooms. I sweep them once a
month. I think I've mopped them once since I've lived here, lol.

I do the kitchen a little more often ;-)

Okay I've noticed this with my neighbors as well as women on other boards I
post on. Why do people seem proud that they don't clean? Why would you
only clean your floor once a month? I have hardwoods throughout my house,
except the bathrooms (tiles) and kitchen (lino). I dry Swiffer every other
day and wet Swiffer probably twice a week.
Sorry but I totally don't understand that.

Okay, I admit it. I just don't get why anyone would be relieved to be cut
open rather than pushing out a baby. I don't mean that as an attack: I'm
glad you're relieved and happy about it. I just can't figure what it is
about pushing that some women find so awful. I mean, I presume women have
had bowel movements every day of their lives (unless they're having
"problems", of course!). Pushing out a baby just isn't that much
different.
At least in my experience.

So what is it about pushing that freaks some folks out? I'm genuinely
curious.

It's not the pushing, it's where the baby comes out - lol.

Even with what happened with L, I'm perfectly A-OK with c-sections and that
I never had to have a baby come out "there"

Well, for me it's not that I'm proud of it. Just that I'm not all
that interested in having a really clean house. Finding others that
think the same is great, as it flies in the face of the stereotype
that sahm's need to be doing it all.

Sometimes you have to brag about your inabilty to organize yourself? My
MIL cleans ALL the time.. I have urges to clean but I usualy ignore them.. I
should be cleaning right now because in 4 days my Mom and Grandmother are
visiting from NH new baby here or not! My bathroom is a wreck and the last
time DH cleaned it consisted of him sweeping tons of stuff into the
corners.. *sigh*

I care but not that much I also like clean dishes and a clean shower..
actualy I like the smell of our cleaning stuff.. it is Orange.. DH mopped
the other day and I just loved walking out into the nice clean kitchen
smell

I joke that I parent by benign neglect -- I'm on the computer a lot, and
Taylor plays by herself in the family room with the TV on -- she doesn't
sit
still and watch it often, but she likes it on. But, she's very
independent,
and knows what she likes and doesn't like. I'm very interested to see who
Addie is going to be.

I'm glad I'm not the only one practising parental neglect ;-)

I don't do much in the way of cleaning -- just ask my dh. I don't do
laundry. I don't iron. I certainly don't do windows. I cook, but
nothing
really gourmet -- sautéed chicken breasts and a bag of salad is my most
common meal. Dh gets bored, so I try to do something different -- I sauté
pork chops and do a bag of salad : ). I've often said, I love being a
stay-at-home mom, but I don't love being a stay-at-home wife.

That makes sense, I don't enjoy the stay-at-home wife bits either. It's
possible that I'm a worse partner than I am mother...
Poor DH would love sauteed chicken or pork. He doesn't get either, because
I'm vegetarian and cooking meat makes me gag even when I'm not pregnant. He
gets a lot of baked beans, potatoes, frozen veg and lentils, because they're
easy.

Yesterday I had a killer migraine (and it feels like it's coming back
right
now -- ooouuuch!), and of course, Addie was awake and needed to be held
the
whole time that Taylor was napping. I just wanted to lay down and close
my
eyes, but Addie wouldn't let me. She was crying and I was crying. Addie
finally fell asleep around 2:45. I lay quietly in my room, praying for
sleep. Taylor woke up at 3. No nap for mommy. I called Rob at 3:30
crying, in pain, and begged him to come home. He was over 2 hours away,
and
arrived home around 5:30. By then my migraine had begun to dissipate and
I
was feeling better.

That's pretty understandable if you've got a migraine. They can make you
wish for death at times. Thankfully I grew out of my childhood migraines.

Yowch. Truly, I don't envy anyone with a c-section. Particularly if you have
labours like mine, pushing the baby out is by far the easy way. No stitches,
a three hour labour, minimal recovery time - see, I was even lazy in
delivery, lol.
I bet your floors are clean though ;-) My friend was told no vacuuming for
6 weeks after her second c-section (oh how I wish I'd had Dr's orders not to
clean) but she vacuumed every time before she had visitors, from the first
week. Probably why she never has any time to see me.
