if you do get it, are you likely to get it later?

Ah, they don't know that much about it yet. About a third of
recurrances are at the same gestational age; the rest are mostly later,
but some are earlier. On the PF boards there are women who had their
first at 34 weeks, and their second at 30... there's no way to predict
if I will get it again, or at what gestational age. If I get pregnant
again it will be a triumph of hope over experience!

At least PE is something that is well known about and because it is so scary
people act and act fast. Pregnancy would threaten my ability to walk, both
long and short term, which is not something obstetricians particularly care
about

Yeah -- I suspect both of us are seeing the consequenses of primates
with big heads who learned to walk upright. My body handles it by
going preeclamptic and dying in the absense of really good medical
care; your body handles it by getting very badly injured. Mother
Nature doesn't care if you can't walk or if I die, so long as enough of
the babies live -- and most pregnancies don't have our complications.
:-)

Oh well, I'm waffling now, I think hormonally I must be hitting the point
where I'm starting to feel broody again

Hang in there. It sucks. (((Anne)))

I'm such a jerk, actually. Truth is, you actually have about another 9
months left to go!

Actually, that wouldn't be all bad. Our landlady has decided it's
perfectly reasonable to kick out a ten-month-pregnant lady, so we're
frantically househunting. A little more time could be helpful... But
dang, imagine how big I'd be at 19 months.

Oh, that is so not cool! I hope you find a house soon and baby makes an
appearance at a convenient time!
