My Trip (and boy am I glad to be home)

Good to see you back. Thanks. :-) How was your trip? Well, let's just say I'm glad to be back. And boy what a trip it was.=20 We left home a couple of Thursdays ago to go to my FIL's wedding in=20 Parksville. The cottage we stayed in was very nice and spacious. It=20 was a completely self-contained 2-bedroom cottage. We got there on=20 Thursday. On Friday, DH had to do some business so I met an online mom=20 of twins that lived near there. She also had two other children. The 9 = of us went puddle jumping and sand digging at the beach. It was so much = fun. Saturday was the wedding. It was an afternoon wedding. I fed the kids=20 their lunch prior and I am very glad I did because the buffet was until after 2 pm. The kids were very good and they ate whatever they wanted which was lots of dessert. They also had their first juice. You should have seen Joshua's face; it was a sparkling-type punch and he scrunched up his face. It was funny. Sunday, DH still had business to do so I drove him around because I was bored at the cottage with the kids. Monday we left. While we were there, DH and I were talking about his work. He had fallen behind because of the pregnancy and the 1st couple of months after birth, and was getting stressed. After thinking about it for a bit, I offered to stay at my mom's place for the rest of the week so he could catch up. We both knew it was going to be hard work for me but he really =93needed=94 to catch up. The plan was for me to stay at her place until Tuesday, the 27th, because he was going to be back in the area and then we could travel home together. I didn't make it. Mid-week, I started to spot and have a bit of pain in my belly. I knew I was overdoing it but sometimes you just have to do these things. The hardest part about staying at my mom's was the sleeping arrangements. The kids and I were all in one king-sized bed. So, putting the twins down to sleep took forever because the kept poking at each other and I kept going up and down the stairs to tell them to settle down. Also, Joshua wouldn't go up the stairs when I wanted him to so I had to carry him up. And, Katerina wouldn't go down the stairs when I wanted her to so I had to carry her down. Anyway, it was all too much and I decided about 2:30 pm yesterday I had to go home. I packed everything up and caught the 7:00 pm ferry. I took my mom on the ferry to help me out (and boy am I glad I took her because the ferry was so busy) and I bought her a return fare so she just stayed on the ferry and went back home. At about 12:30 am, I ran out of gas at my exit off the highway. I was about 300 metres from a gas station so I put coats and shoes on the twins and put the baby in the Snugli. Then we walked to the gas station and I called DH (he was about 5 minutes away). He came and filled up the car and then we loaded the kids back in and went home. I finally got to bed about 2:30 am and I slept like the dead until 9:30 this morning. I'll be going to the doctor tomorrow to get the spotting and pain checked out. I suspect it is a cyst on my ovary. I have PCOS and I am prone to them. So, today, I am catching up. I'm going to read as much as I can but I doubt I'll be responding to many posts. I'll post pictures later this week. --=20 Brigitte aa #2145 http://ca.geocities.com/bironmonger/ Please excuse the quality. It is always nice to come home though Hope DH caught up on some work at least.... Amanda -- DD 15th August 2002 1 tiny angel Nov 2003 EDD 19th August 2004 |
