About 40 percent of infants watch TV

About 40 percent of infants watch TV, DVDs or videos before they are 3
months old, according to new research.

Frederick Zimmerman, the lead author of the study, said watching the
tube takes time away from playing with an adult or imaginative toys
such as blocks or dolls.

Other authors said that parents believe that they are giving education
by the shows they watch. In the study, 29 percent said they believed
media is good for a child's brain.
