2 miscarriages
Hi all,
I'm a new member to the group. Here to share my story with u all.I had a miscarriage in May 04.Three months after that I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. My endocrinologist asked us not to try for another pregnancy until my thyroid levels became normal. So we ttc from april 05 and conceived in may.But when my gyno tested me forHCG levels it was as low as 266.She asked me to wait for one more week to repeat the beta tests. But I began to bleed before that.I was not at all prepared for this loss, considering my thyriod issue being fixed.Just trying to cope up with the grief. Has anyone in this group experienced a similar problem? If so which specialist am I supposed to consult and what are the possible treatments? hoping to get a reply rgds dvn78 |

My m/c's were not thyroid related, but I have Graves' disease and have been reading a lot about this. If you are hypothyroid, the best treatment is indeed stabilizing the TSH levels before ttc. However, in some women, the normal range is not yet high enough to ensure a healthy pregnancy. You may want to target a TSH value somewhat at the top of the normal range. The best person to help you with this is your endocrinologist. When your thyroid values are normal, it is hard to tell whether the last m/c was related to your thyroid, or just plain bad luck. So first take your time to grief, and then have your TSH levels tested again before actively ttc.
