Default diaper brands and diaper rash

We recently switched from Huggies diapers to store-brand ones. About a
week later, our 17 month-old has the worst diaper rash he's ever had.
It's not particularly bad, but I'm sure it's uncomfortable.

Could there be a connection between the brand of diapers and the
appearance of diaper rash?

Could be. Each of my girls has certain diaper brands they could tolerate
and some they could not. One did horrible with every store brand type we
tried, one was find with the purple Wal-mart ones..

Yes: My brother (20years ago!) used to get bad rash if he had anything other
than pampers.

Absolutely. Both my boys have a skin sensitivity to whatever scent is
used in Pull-ups and get little pimply things on their bums. My
daughter gets a rash around her anus whenever I switch her from
Huggies and it usually happens within about 24 hours. In her case
switching back with no other treatment works within about 24 hours.

Certainly. DD1 reacted to Pull-ups and got a rash with them everytime she
wore one. I used Luv's for all three girls, but they didn't react to them.
