Medical Support Changes
"Tell" wrote in . And this past month, he finally received medical insurance on my child for the first time. Now, because he has all of his current family and my daughter on his company's insurance However, I do not believe that my current husband should be responsible for my child financially. I have offered my ex to sign custody of my daughter to my new husband I think that he should either be forced to support his child, This is his child that someone else is taking care of, emotionally and financially. I notice you refer to the child as **my** child when you want things, but it's **his** child when you demand money for your child. So what do you actually pay for in regards to your own child? |

"My ex-husband just declines, saying that he could never do such a
thing." Already your husbands sounds like a smart man. I don't want to be rude lady. But since you are here begging for money, may I suggest you get a job. I walk out and all I see are "hiring" ads. Have you tried to put in an application at McDonalds? I hear they are hiring. I hear they give employees discounts on the kids meal. |

I have very selfish views in this matter. I am a custodial parent of a child that has not seen her biological father in over 4 years. He has refused to call or send a card to her. She knows that she once had a father that did not take care of her. But, she is very lucky that she has a wonderful father that has chosen her because he loves her, my new husband. Anyhow, I have fought with the court system for over 5 years for child support. He is almost $20,000 in arrears now. And this past month, he finally received medical insurance on my child for the first time. Now, because he has all of his current family and my daughter on his company's insurance, there are no longer funds to distribute for child support, that he was behind on anyway. My ex- husband's license has never been revoked. His income tax has never been held back. And there is an order that takes the $$$ directly from his check before he is paid. But, now that the insurance is coming out of his check, the child support payments have completely stopped. While I am a stay at home mother, my current husband does make enough $ $$ to support us and our other children with medical insurance. However, I do not believe that my current husband should be responsible for my child financially. I have offered my ex to sign custody of my daughter to my new husband, who would be thrilled to be my little girl's daddy. My ex-husband just declines, saying that he could never do such a thing. I think that the court system in this matter is unjust. I think that he should either be forced to support his child, or he should be forced to sign her over. My current husband also has children from a previous relationship. He pays 100% child support, because she says that she cannot find a job with no experience. But, she has 3 college degrees. He also has to provide medical and dental insurance on both of his daughters. He went into arrears several years back, and he was charged with contempt of court. The judge ordered him to pay $2000 up front and an extra $1000 per month to catch up. If for any reason he would miss a payment, he would be ordered to serve jail time. Why hasn't this happened to my ex-husband? I just get the same answer each time I ask, "There are people who have thousands of dollars more arrears than him, and they aren't even in jail yet." Or, they say, "There is an order in place for his employer to withhold the child support amount. However, he does not make enough." Why don't they order him to make enough. He should have two or three jobs if necessary. This is his child that someone else is taking care of, emotionally and financially. What do you think? Your poor child will be forever hurt by the words "But, she is very lucky that she has a wonderful father that has chosen her because he loves her, my new husband." It is women like you who say such stupid things, that allow kids to ALSO believe that if her Daddy isn't with her, it's because HE DOESN'T love her... No, the guy loves YOU, not your child...he didn't marry you because he was in love with your child, he married you because he was in love with YOU (for obviously some odd reason)... You see, it's women like you who complain that once men divorce they think they ALSO divorce their children, yet you are the one making your child believe that your husband has CHOSEN her and that ONLY because he married you, he loves her... So, guess what? If your husband ever leaves you, I guess it'll be YOUR CHILD'S FAULT? Or at least she'll definitely feel like the guy no longer loves her...that is just SICK. |

Oh and yes, excuse me, but if your ex husband should sign his rights away because he doesn't financially support your child together, then maybe you ought to do the same thing and give up your child since you ALSO don't support her financially...OH, sorry, I'm sure you'll come up with the same sorry excuse that all the others do "I support her EMOTIONALLY" and that is worth more than the money... but I can ASSURE you that if your ex wanted to support your child together "EMOTIONALLY" you'd complain that emotional support does not put food on the table... |

"whatamess" wrote in Oh and yes, excuse me, but if your ex husband should sign his rights away because he doesn't financially support your child together, He can keep his child if he puts up enough money, Sad! then maybe you ought to do the same thing and give up your child since you ALSO don't support her financially...OH, sorry, I'm sure you'll come up with the same sorry excuse that all the others do "I support her EMOTIONALLY" and that is worth more than the money... If her Ex were to leave a dog and she had to pet it a few times a day and let it outside once in a while, would she be looking for half the rent and $800 worth of food to care for the dog? This stay at home mummy excuse is a scam, not many people can afford the luxury of not working for a living. My Ex got laid off from her job, she complained that she had to go pound the pavement to find another job because of the child, how rediculous is that? |
