Pack and Plays and Crib Tents/Cross Country Motor Home Trip
Hi Everyone - I'm new here. I have 23 month old boy/girl twins who are
climbing monkeys! We're going to take a cross country motor home trip in June, and I need to figure out a safe sleeping arrangment for them. Right now, they are able to climb out of their cribs, so we added the adaptor to the bed so they can climb out at any time. We have removed all toys from the room except soft stuffed animals. They eventually get in one or the other bed and sleep. In the motor home we will not be able to do this. I was thinking about putting them in their pack and plays and using crib tents to keep them contained. Has anyone tried this? Will it work??? Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks so much! Debbie,
WOW, you are brave taking two two-year olds on a trip like that! I don't think I can offer you much except to say that regular crib tents will not fit on a pack-n-play. I have tried it. I am not aware of special tents to fit the p-n-p, but maybe in the last five years they have come up with one. My thinking is that if you know they are just going to climb out, don't bother with the p-n-p's. Depending on how much room you have, maybe sleeping bags would be a better option. You could let them pick out a cool one, make a big deal about it, and maybe they will stay in them Good luck! Elen -------------- Erin 6/95 Bradley & Alex 10/00 |

They do make tents for the p-n-p.
Good luck with the trip! DH and I really want to do that in the near future. I'll look forward to a post on how it went :-) Leann "Ellen" wrote in message oups.com... Are you worried that they will get up and into things while you are
asleep? I have camped since I was 6 mos. old and we have had our twins camping since 8 mos. old. When they were very small, they were in their pack n plays in our camper. Now, that they are a bit bigger, we bring one of those bed bars for the bunk. I think your twins are old enough to sleep in the "bed" part of the camper. Not the upper bunk of the motor home, but on the folded down couch or table. Another thing we have done is Mommy sleeps with 1 baby and Daddy sleeps with the other. Campers are so small that they can't get into much mischief w/o you hearing and waking up. Have you been camping with them yet?? It's the running around the campsite and no gates which is the killer!!! LOL Mine are already asking when we are going camping this year!! ~Megan~ Mama to twins, Aidan & Alexis. Now 3 and a HALF! |
