homework hassles
"Lisa aka Surfer" wrote in message ... "Betty" wrote in message news:vqTZb.584781$X%5.543025@pd7tw2no... He gets a minimum of 8 hours sleep, Usually 10-11. Ok, Mom's showing her ignorance here, what is a verbal list? Please don't say it's a list of verbs, then I'll know how dumb I am. LOL! I read this and my immediate thought was, boy, she's gunna smack herself on the forehead in a moment!! Well, my defence is that I wrote that on a Weekend, and my brain stops working at 2:15 sharp Friday (when I get off work). I need to save those brain cells for week days. ;-) Ok, disregard this response. Sometimes the level of my stupidity amazes even me.LOL LOL Betty betty betty. I truly admire when we can laugh at ourselves. Hey, I'd rather laugh at myself, than have someone else do it for me! LOL Betty |

I think an assault charge is in order - plus an AVO to prevent more attacks
David - who would NEVER allow a teacher (or anyone else) to assault his children like that PS and my view has nothing to do with any disorder the child may have - it is simply that this is a degrading and humilating practice that is an assault V wrote: His teacher would tap over and over on their foreheads to get blood to their brains. I had a conference with her about his. I did not like my child repeatedly having someone thug him on the forhead. She made it seems as though I overreacted, but with his connective tissue disorder and the fact I teach them no one is to touch them, especially painfully and then...well, I am confused myself, but I did not like it at all. How would you guys have handled this situation? curiously, V |

Administration? NO. Police? YES
Geez Kate this a criminal assault on a child, and needs to be dealt with through the courts David 'Kate wrote: On Sun, 22 Feb 2004 14:46:26 GMT, "V" Kate: I spoke to her in "front" of the principal. Nothing is being done. Crazy uh? V Very crazy if she did not stop the thumping. I would do what others here have had to do and put it in writing CC'd to someone in administration. 'Kate |

YES Geez Kate this a criminal assault on a child, and needs to be dealt with through the courts David Yeah... maybe. I guess, though, that I'm allowed my opinion and that was to either stop the abuse by removing the child or remove the teacher for being unfit. Because the mother already handled the teacher's thumping by letting her know that she was not to thump her child anymore the child is safe. Calling the police would lead to an investigation and denial by the teacher. It would put the school on the defensive. It would get the teacher's union laywers involved. All the mother wanted was for the teacher to stop thumping her child. 'Kate And she did. V |

Perhaps that falls under the heading of "not that mother's problem." We cannot be responsible for everything at all times. Sometimes we have to pick our battles wisely so that they do not further harm our children. 'Kate Indeed it does. If it were more serious, I would, but nope. Not gonna do it. Kate I am starting to get tired with the "not getting its"..you get what I mean? V |

Kate I am starting to get tired with the "not getting its"..you get what I mean? V Yeah... I understand. I think it's because we're women. The fact that a minority of "women" dumb down to the level of a tree stump and act like little girls doesn't help. 'Kate Insults don't help make women look intelligent either. Actually when one insults, it can lead others to believe its because of a lack of anything intelligent to say. Or other issues, in some cases. |

'Kate Too many "what if's" hanging about so I'll agree to disagree... Last thing I'd worry about would be her denial and the school is there to protect children and who gives a rat's behind about the teachers union... Not my battle, I would have handled it differently... I protect my children and if I can I protect others... Like I said I'll agree to disagree |

I understand that you don't mind that it could happen to another child in the future... Like pulling your child out of the path of an oncoming truck and watching another child get hit Sign this "not getting it" , Got it LOUD and CLEAR |
