Default turning question

I had my midwifes appointment the other day, she said 'oh what a smart baby,
his already head down' me being in my pregnancy brain state went 'eh?' and
she said that his head was already down and it was likely that he wouldn't
turn around again.

I called my mum to tell her about the appointment and told her that he was
already head down.. my mum is coming 2 days before the due date so she said
'you better not be early!' now everytime I tell someone that he is head down
they tell me he'll be coming early.

Is this right?? I find it strange that just because he is head down that
he'll come early.

I'm 32 weeks.

TIA
Leanne.

This little factoid is absolutely inconsequential.

Nope...that's not true. My baby was head down from 25 weeks and I delivered
exactly 3 days before my due date...

Don't worry, my first turned head-down in the 33-st week and he came at
39 weeks and 3 days.
It IS tricky that your mom is coming 2 days before due date.... that
might be not in time as well that she'll have to wait a couple of
weeks... You can never tell precisely when the baby comes if you want a
natural delivery.. :-) How long can she stay? Maybe it'll be better if
she comes a little earlier... but then you're risking that she'll be
around for 'nothing' an awfull long time. How is the relationship with
your mom???

My mum is staying 2-3 weeks. I love my mum, shes great, we get along really
well, but she is also staying with my sister for a week so she wont be
around here all the time anyway

She also has her brother here which also means that she'll have something
else to do.. not that i mind her being around at all.

I guess she is coming so close to the due date because apparently most first
timers are late

Thanks for your help
and thanks to everyone else too!

My first turned head down from about 28 weeks and came at 34 weeks prem
(long story) but is ok and now is 4 yo girl running around.

My second turned head down at something like 30 weeks and came out at 38 1/2
weeks full term. And now also a healthy running around boy.

He/she could come early, then again they could come late. One of my friends
babies turned around at 27 weeks and then came out something like 8 days
past due date. Everyone keept saying she would come early but guess baby
proved them wrong that time.

You can never tell.... up to baby to decide.

I just had mine yesterday, mine also already head down. I did asked her
whether the baby will move again. And, she said yes, as the baby only in his
34th week, he's still growing and might be move again. So, i think your baby
might be move around again. But, just pray that at the end, he will be head
down

I'm 34weeks

*Totally* not an issue. Lots of babies are head down
early and come on time or late.

Best wishes,
Ericka

she's very right. DD2 went head down at about 26 weeks and didn't change
position after that. she was only 10 days early, and i think they had my
EDD wrong anyway.

DD3 has been head down for a long time, too. she rolls from side to side (i
can watch her butt move from one side of my stomach to the other, it's
hilarious!) but hasn't changed otherwise.

randi
mother of megan, 10, riley 1, and chloe due in 4 weeks 3 days!
