A Question for the Parents of 6 Year Old Boys...

Does your 6 year old boy occasionally, once a month or
perhaps every other month, say things like "I hate my life."?

Hi. I'd consider that grounds for concern. You haven't given a lot of
information here, but no, it's not a typical comment for a 6 year old
boy. What's the background?

Well, I clearly hear you suggesting that my observation should not only be a
"concern" but should be an "issue" that needs to be addressed

No problem. Lacking any other information, yeah, I'd want someone with
a clue to take a look at why he'd be saying that. Kids that age don't
tend to use that kind of phraseology & don't tend to speak to that
kind of issue.

I have 9 year old boys and the only time they've ever expressed a typically
depressed remark like that was when Josh was in the hospital just after his
car accident, he was completely out of it, but awake if that makes any
sense...

Have you asked him why he feels that way?
