What the f is she advising here? Sounds like she's telling this lady
she has the option/right to cut the father out of daughter's life
because he doesn't agree with her stance on the nephew situation.
That is messed up!

That is the price he has to pay to keep the relationship, in other words the
man is held hostage if he wants to stay in the house. I think Dr. Laura
would have put it in a better perspective, a spouse takes priority over any
other relationship, it's called mutual respect, something these new family
experts know nothing about, it's all about control for them.

Ah. Going on the column, I took it that the father was already living
apart from mother/daughter as the NCP.
