Not going to copy the full column as it's 4 pages long, but here's
what raised my hackles:

"Her mother has been divorced for two years, and Izzy sees the toll of
single parenthood in her face. She's a great mother to Izzy and her
younger brother, Aidan, but holding down two jobs and raising two
children by herself doesn't round many sharp corners in life. " .....

......"Izzy doesn't need a father. She has one, and she loves him lots.
But she did have someone in mind to help lighten everyone's load. "

"Raising two children by herself." Typical plea for sympathy for the
legendary hardworking single mom. BY HERSELF? Who asked for the
divorce & why? Who got what they wanted in having the kids fulltime?
Too hard for her, perhaps she should have let the father have custody.
And, the most glaring omission here - how much is she getting in child
support from the father?? Apparently child support doesn't count, the
custodial parent still gets credit for doing it all alone. BAH! BTDT,
know the world doesn't give any credit to the NCP, but it still sucks
to see it in print.

Don't know if you meant me, but here's my response to this coma-inducing
pile of crap disguised as journalism:

Ms. Schultz:

While this girl "wise beyond her years" is writing date ads asking for
some wallflower to be her mother's indentured servant, keep his mouth
shut, and not have a personality of his own, Izzy might want to write
for somebody to help her father who has the burden of paying for not
just his home, but hers and her mothers as well. I know the non
custodial dad is supposed to keep his mouth shut and not ask for help,
but I'm sure he'd appreciate the help as well. Word to the wise.
