Roll Call
All I can say is, I am extremely jealous!

You have probably heard this a few times, but I am a latecomer to the Lord of the Rings movies, and now I want to see NZ! What an incredible place it seems to be. Of course, I don't know if I'll ever make it there, but I would love to. So how close are you to that scenery? Or is the whole country like that? lol We have lived and breathed LOTR for the last 5 years, it sort of hasn't sunk in it's all over yet. I'm very close to many of the filming locations. Peter Jackson lives in Wellington where I live and where Weta studios are located, and also where many of the 'stars' lived while they were here. He did a fair few of the location shoots locally. Isengard is at the begining of the road where I live, otherwise known as Harcourt Park. My kids play there often (we were there yesterday in fact) and we had our wedding photos taken in the gardens. Helm's Deep was filmed at a quarry just of the motor way into my city, it was an amazing set to behold when it was up, it's been down a year or so now. Rivendell is filmed close to me at Kaitoke park, what we locals call the Waterworks, a favourite local picnic spot and where my husband also lived for many years. The river Anduin runs through our property and is actually the Hutt River. Everyone local knows someone who is either in the films or worked on them so we kind of feel like we are are a part of them. Glad you liked them and our country :-) -- Andrea If I can't be a good example, then I'll just have to be a horrible warning. |

Roll Call
Jumping in a little late here but here it goes:
I am Michelle(33) and my DH of almost 8 years is Jimmy(36). With the help of a wonderful Dr, IVF(w/ICSI) and God, we concieved Riley Claire and James Michael in October 2000 after several years of infertility treatments. They were delivered into our arms via c-section on June 19, 2001 at 35 weeks gestation. After 10 days in NICU Riley came home and has kept us on our toes ever since. James had some health issues in addition to his prematurity, but was able to join our home at 2 weeks old. He has since amazed us and his Dr's and is expected to live a long and healthy life. Again with the help of God! DH is the general manager of a specialized medical equiptment co and he travels a bit. I am currently a SAHM and could not be happier with my promotion. We live in Westchester County NY (about 40 minutes north of NYC). We have just celebrated our 3rd Christmas with our children and become more and more amazed with the new things they teach us every single day. recent photo in hyperlink below! Congrats on your recent aliyah; I was an olah hadasha 8 years ago; we've been back in the States for almost 2 years now. My twins were born in Israel (Beilinson) and baby was born in the States. If you need a friendly ear of someone who has been there/done that the culture shock, feel free to email us. Happy Hanukkah! Gretchen Thanks Gretchen! I dont provide my real e mail in my Usenet use, just leads to MANY unwanted things in the mail box. Belinson Hospital in Petach Tikva? They recently changed it's name to Rabin if I am not mistaken. What made you go back to the states ( as if i don't have some kind of idea after 6 months) Did you mary an Israeli? How did the whole thing happen. Barbara here, with twin daughters, C and J. They're wonderful toddling one year olds who are also cared for by their stay at home dad (my wonderful DH). We live in the greater Toronto area. I mostly lurk here, but can't contain myself to merely reading all the time.... Happy holidays, Barbara |

Roll Call
Hi All!
I'm Kim (37), and married to Mike (40). I posted here a couple of times during my pregnancy while spending 13 long weeks on bedrest. Our twin girls, Margaret Ann (Maggie) and Madison Grace (Maddie) were born at 34W on 9/21/03. Both girls were fine weighing i at 4'9 and 4'7 and came home tojoin their 3 siblings, Liz (15), Kris (13), and Mikey (8). The twins are doing wonderful and now at 14 weeks old weigh in at 11'13 and 10'15. Life has sure gotten busy!!! Sometimes I wish I could get just a couple of those bedrest days back! Anyway, I lurk here almost daily looking for words of wisdom from more experienced twin parents. Glad to join in! Kim Twin Girls 9/21/03 |
