other bath idea
DD usually takes a shower with one/both of us and loves it! she doesn't seem
to mind the water in her face, in fact, sticks her tongue out to drink it yesterday though, it was hot here and so I took her little bathtub out onto our back porch and filled it with warm water and just let her sit and play in it and get used to it on her own terms. I did a little washing up, but no rush to any of it. I also had a jug of clean water to rinse her off with. she really seemed to like it. as a kid, I never liked water in my face; used a washcloth over my eyes to keep it out. at the ripe old age of 42, I am still that way, unless I am swimming, where it doesn't bother me. go figure. anyway, I have made it a point with all 3 of my kids to not make a big issue of getting their faces wet so that they don't suffer through it like I did. my first two are almost 16 and 18+ yo, my newest is now 2 months. so far, it seems to be working.
