What you say in your first paragraph has been around for centuries and
is alive and well in 2005 USA. Not all Christians believe this. There
is a wonderful website called Parenting in Jesus' Footsteps (sorry I
don't have the address but you can do a Google search) that discusses
the fallacy of beating the evil out of the child. There is nothing in
the New Testament or the words of Jesus that would advocate any form of
spanking.

Roloffs was the place to dump your messed up kid (that you messed up),
