Pregnancy Test

Hello Group,

I have a question for all of you here.
A friend of mine has been late now for
about 20 days or so. I'm not a woman
so I don't have much knowledge in this
area but she has since taken a pregnancy
test which came out negative. Now, what
else could cause her being so late if not
pregnancy?

She may not have ovulated last cycle. Stress can make you ovulate
later than normal as well (which would make her period late).

Also, false negatives aren't uncommon; some women don't test positive
until they are several months into the pregnancy. Tell her to go get a
quantitative hCG (beta) test at the doctor's to make sure.
