Why do parents keep doing this?
I'm a teen-ager and since the moment I found out what happened to me I
felt angry about it. Once I found what goes on during the procedure and what is lost, I felt sick. I know I was robbed of something special, and I'll never know what sex is really supposed to feel like. Why the hell do parents keep letting their baby boys get cut even if they know there are no real health benefits? Why? Does it matter to them whether or not their son *wants* to be that way? Does the risk of death, infections and disfigurement matter? Isn't the fact that there are tons of men ****ed off about it and stuck that way for the rest of their lives reason enough not to do it? I'm really curios as to why. Could any parent who has or is going to have their little boy cut clue me in? |

I was in elemtary school when when they did a quick "why boys are differnet
from girls" lesson in sixth grade (like we didn't know already by then! the difference was that girls had cooties!!) And for the boys class they went into all the changes we could look forward to in the next few years, what happens when.... etc. One of the things mentioned was cirumcision/intact. Thats when i knew i was cut. I was quite shocked. It wasn't till the internet became really widespread that i really understood what it was all about, stumbled into foreskin resetoration quite accidentally, decided thats what i would do. Was amazed at the response in sensitivity within just a few short weeks, course being in high school at the time my only sexual experience was in the one man band (wasn't circumcision supposed to prevent that?) and "letting out some pressure" went from being good... to excellent, like going from a small black and white TV to HDTV. Never was able to get serious about restoring till i finished college, but having excellent results since restarting. What the cutters keep bringing up is the same broken record... the first thing they complain about is smell and cleanliness... OK you do have to clean it... but it takes no more time than cleaning a cut prick... while in the shower, just skin the foreskin back a few times and let teh water rinse out what little smegma has accumulated since your last shower. Then they talk about disease prevention. Fine and dandy that a well rounded scientific study states that circumcision may prevent HIV, and there may yet be scientific evidence of that, but lets face it, if you are cut or uncut and boffin someine else thats HIV+ its like playing russian roulette, any reducion in risk would be minimal, and doubtful it will conteract the risk of complications of circumcision. Several boys a year die from circumcision, usually a result of postop infection, some are horribly disfigured by the "simple operation", some are cut so badly that they get a "Gender Reassignment" and are raised as girls. (Notice how the circ prevents such and such disease changes regularly, was cancer until a few weeks ago) Or they are like me, and are cut so tightly that an erection was painful (thats how i sumbled on restoration, trying to learn about painful erection), within a few weeks my skin was stretched enoug to finally allow a normal erection. Some people argue about the cosmetic appeal of a cut penis, frankly i don't pay attention to how other guy's dicks look in the shower, if someone stares at my member in its partially covered state, they are either gay or envious. Some people argue it as a matter of faith, and I really won't argue with that, but do think that the rite should be a voluntary sacrifice by the recipient, virtue without the freedom to choose that virtue is not a virtue at all. (lets expand on that sentence on a brief tangent, As an American I have the freedom to go to the liquor store and buy some booze, get **** faced drunk, then get on with my life, but i choose NOT to consume alcohol, a virtue common in my church, but the fact that i CHOOSE not to drink is what makes it a virtue, if it was a legal prohibition it would simply be covering my ass). The bottom line is that it is YOUR PENIS. Not anyone elses, its not anyones right to tell you to get cut or to stay intact, or to even restore for that matter, and anyone who focuses on making sure everyone is "Cut" is just as guilty of having a penis fettish as they will surely accuse me of having. I personally could care less that a person is cut or not, but i really wish people had the simple choice to decide how they wanted to look. I call cutters ideas bull**** as much as they call my ideas bull****, but its YOUR penis and YOUR happiness that matters, if you like it, fine, if you don't like it, get it cut, start restoring it, but thats YOUR choice, its just a shame that like most american boys you did NOT get the initial choice to begin with. Some say women don't like uncut penii..... well i'm at a school now that has a large dutch contingent (a nation with a very very low incidence of circumcision, and those guys don't have ANY problem getting action if they want it, if being uncut was undesirous i suspect the girlfriend retention incidence woudl be quite low for them! And frankly is a girl is so damn shallow to fall in love with my penis, instead of me, i don't want them. Long rant here, and i know its gonna draw fire, but i've had enough. 87% of all statistics are made up on the spot 76% of the people believe those statistics without question. Why don't you be one of the other 24%? "Lyle Benson" wrote in message om... I'm a teen-ager and since the moment I found out what happened to me I felt angry about it. Briar, you are not dealing with rational minded users! Did you conveniently miss her grave faux pas!?ehehe She claims that women have no foreskin folds! LOL! If such is the case, why did my last girlfriend have a labia the size of a balloon animal!?heheeheh Susan, your labia is comprised of four folds of skin! DOH! Susan should squat over a mirror with Sarah, Angela & Amy - the one-eyed-foreskinned-purple people eaters! LOL! -D, NYC "Circumcision is like a substantial and well-secured annuity; every year of life you draw the benefits. Parents cannot make a better paying investment for their little boys" - DR. P.C. REMONDINO http://www.medicirc.org/meditopics/p...nfo_women.html (Circumcision - A Lifetime Of Medical Benefits - Women's Sexual Penile Preference, Sexual Activity, Psych Effect) Ummm... I think you missed the tongue in my cheek. I thought it was pretty clear I was being facetious. Should I actually WRITE ::eyeroll:: next time? The point is that folds of skin are normal and natural. --Susan Susan, perhaps you should have, because I did not detect an ounce of sarcasm in your response!eheheh Susan, you are comparing apples and oranges. The sexual physiology is not the same! I will tell you what I told another female user on another forum. Even if one were to excise the labia minora/majora, one would still be left with foreskin (clitoris), which unlike the male prepuce, is the epicenter for pleasure. The head of the penis (not the foreskin) is where the greatest degree of sensation lies. In the end, women have no choice but to put up with their own odoriferous emanations. Men have a choice - a simple, safe and beneficial circumcision. The most common cut in all of medicine! One that provides its owner with a virtual self-cleaning penis. You also forget that men are led by their noses. We are the horniest creatures on the planet. As long as we have a warm hole to nestle inside of, we will generally tolerate anything!eh And that "anything" includes the fishy-scented snatch!ehe Women should not have to tolerate our emanations - the same cottage cheese-like fumes that can just as easily be eradicated with one simple & safe snip! Is it quite possible that you have become so accustomed to gnawing on snagle-tooth skin that you simply do not know any better!? Where in the world do you hail from!? I ask because cultural ideology plays an important role in how we perceive circumcision. ie. In Europe, many still being that being circumcised is a sign of being Jewish. The reality is that since Jews comprise a measly 1/4 of 1% of the world's populace, the overwhelming majority of circumcised are Gentiles (non-Jews). While circumcision (as with Kosher) has religious basis, it also has undeniable health benefits. Would it surprise you to learn that 70% of the 5 billion dollars worth of Kosher (cool, clean, fit - free of impurities, contaminants & animal cruelty) sold in the US, is purchased by non-Jews!? It all boils down to common sense & civility! ie. Why should you buy non-Kosher roast beef when you can buy Kosher roast beef!? You may pay four times as much for Kosher meats, but you are ultimately paying for peace of mind. As the saying goes: "Buy Kosher and be safe!" The same rationale applies to circumcision. Better to err on the side of caution than not! There are no health benefits to foreskin! Remember, if foreskin is such a healthy appendage, why does it continually necessitate medical intervention? Circumcision cannot exist without foreskin! -D, NYC "To perfect the world (TIKUN OLAM) is in Jewish thought - the obligation of every human being. Where better to begin by fixing God's goof of foreskin?" http://www.drweiss.org/necesary.htm (Neonatal Circumcision Is Necessary - correct link - htm not html) |

Or people? My goodness, if you described your lover's body like this to her, or judged her preferences like this, I've a pretty good idea she wouldn't be your lover for long. You may disagree with me about the practice of circumcision, but I think it's becoming very quickly clear which one of us here is merely 'opinionated' and which one has veered well across the line into something else. Unless what you're doing is trying to use humor to get your point across. If that's the case, I'm afraid you'll have to try an approach that's actually funny instead of broadly offensive. --angela |

If you listed the most influential people of the last hundred years, three at the top of the list would be Einstein, Freud and Marx; all were Jews. Many more belong on the list, yet Jews comprise at most less than 3 percent of the United States population. They are an amazing people. Imagine the persecution they endured over the centuries: pogroms, temple burnings, Cossack raids, uprootings of families, their dispersal to the winds and the Holocaust. After the Diaspora, they could not own land or worship in much of the world; they were prohibited from voting and were told where to live. Yet their children survived and Jews became by far the most accomplished people per capita that the world has ever produced." - MARLON BRANDO (excerpt from "SONGS MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME") |

The issue here is that there are many men who are intact and would have a
real problem with having been circumcised at birth, and there many people who are circumcised and have this problem of having been circumcised at birth. The neonatal surgical alteration of one's genitals is a violation of human rights. Religion must never have an ability to surpass the protection of the law. |
