View Full Version : "Wee Blanket"

I'm not a regular poster in misc.kids, but here's hoping I'll get
some input.

About a year ago we bought (through a friend of a friend of
a friend) a blanket which we put under our three year old at
night in case she has an "accident". It's not that easy to describe
but it's either two receiving blankets blanket-stitched together
(except one can't pull them apart) with some kind of gel (?)
inside or it's one blanket with the mystery ingredient either
part of the fabric itself or the material/blanket is made and
then dipped into the "secret" ingredient.

When our daughter wets her bed we just rinse and reuse it.
It's perfect!

Does anyone here know of this blanket or what it's called
and where we might order one/several? It may be called
something like "Wee Blanket", but I've not been able to find
anything online as yet.

Hope someone can help as many of our friends would like
one for their toddlers who haven't quite got bladder control
wrapped up.

Thanks for any ideas in advance.

- Michaela

I'd try shops that advertise themselves as selling disability aids,
or alternatively some kind of medical supply shops.

We just use the waterproof pads. Works for us.

I haven't heard of it, but found this link. It may not be the
same, but it is waterproof and washable.

Thanks for all the responses, someone in alt.support.marriage
has found the blanket online for me. It is apparently called a
"Wet 'n Dry Blanket".

Thanks for posting the information.

I looked for that and found a link where they can be
bought and sent it along to my dil since dgd is just starting
potty training.

If anyone else is interested, try here:

You're welcome. I didn't want to go on about it too much
before cos then people may just write me off as spammy,
but they're truly wonderful. We use the 90cm x 100cm
one and that is ample. We just bought one at the time
but could have done with two as they take quite long to
dry. We've washed the one we're using more than 100 times!

It's probably soft enough to sleep on, but we prefer to put
a receiving blanket over the w&d one.

I'm confident that they won't regret buying one/two.

Also, many of our daughters school friends (all turning four
round-about now) are still wearing night nappies, so if you
work that out, the blanket probably pays for itself within
three months and you get the psychological satisfaction of
fooling yourself that your child is fully potty-trained ;) .
