I have to put together a slide show for a boys CYO basketball banquet.
The pictures cover the past year, with a special tribute to the oldest
group of boys, going back to when they began playing several years ago.

The people who've done them in the past have done an excellent job,
using Power Point, and have incorporated a bunch of great songs to
accompany the slides. Ones I remember include:

Teach Your Children (CSNY)
Time of Your Life (Green Day)
Dire Wolf (Grateful Dead)
Time Has Come Today (Chambers Brothers)
What a Wonderful World (Louis Armstrong)

Any suggestions for other suitable songs I could use? The idea is to
get songs that kind of support the theme of kids growing up, spanning
the range from syrupy and sentimental, to peppy - ideally with some
appeal to the parents in the audience.

Being a Catholic group (CY0 = Catholic Youth Organziation),

"morning has broken" (which was popularized by Yusif Islam).
On Eagles wings seems appropriate too.

And don't forget, We are the champions (Queen).

I wouldn't make the whole slide show more than 5 minutes.

If you want a few perkier songs:

All Star (Smashmouth)
We are the Champions (Queen)
And anything off the Space Jam soundtrack:
I believe I can Fly
Seal version of "Fly like an Eagle"
and the ever popular Space Jam

There is a version of "Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World" with a
ukelele beat by Iz that is also cool.

You might also get movie soundtracks.

Robin Hood and Star Wars movie sound tracks come to mind.

There is no words to the music, the music is pretty cool.
