My son is 4 1/2 years old. He asked me why water cannot be cut separately. I
cannot answer it in a way he can understand it. Can anyone help me on it?

Thanks,
Ming

Perhaps if you try with a bowl of marbles or dry sand. Explain to him
that the water is like a collection of marbles or sand grains and if
you cut it, the grains will just roll back to where they were.
